SU PRESIDENT
Since I took post in July, I have been working:
1. to improve the visibility and openness of the Students’ Union. With the help of my
team that has been ACHIEVED! but, work still needs to be done.
2. Made Proposals to get staff in the SU, to help put more activities on and get
more Student Voice in the college, ACHIEVED!
3. Created new SU Structures to improve employability, scrutiny and the running of
the Students’ Union - ACHIEVED - Taking effect from July 2016
4. Gained more funding for the Students Union to put more activities on for you -
ACHIEVED - Taking effect from July 2016
5. Hosted Launched of NUS Cuts the cost campaign for Fairer Bus Fares -
ACHIEVED!
I am at the halfway point, and with you help I can get over the final hurdle. So if you re-
elect me as SU President I will achieve these 5 things:
1. Further Strengthen Student Voice
a. This Year, I have sat on every college committee to represent your voice.
Also running consultations and questionnaires to get your on changes that
have been happening.
b. We have 1 of the top 5 Systems in the country for our Student Voice. I
want to make it the top system in the college.

2. c. We can always do better, so I pledge to keep it loud and make it bigger in
this college.
2. Students’ Union Visibility
a. This year, we have Videos, Blogs and Student Intranet post this year. Yet
we need to Publicise our events more and put things on more frequently
so you have loads of opportunities to get involved.
3. New Structure
a. I made these proposals and got them agreed this year. I would like that
final year to make sure it's ingrained and you continue to have the best
Students Union in FE in the country.
b. In November we ran a consultation with you the Students, asking what
Your top 3 services that we provide were. You Chose Employability,
Gaining opportunities on your CV and Help to Improve all skills. This new
structure was made with that in mind. So now we need to make it work
4. Getting Student Media Running
a. We have an opportunity to start an SU Media section, SU Radio, SU TV
and an SU Newspaper and I would love to get that started.
b. This is an really amazing Student Lead opportunity that I would love to see
take off as all courses and students could get involved
.
5. Continuing my work on a National Level
a. In October I was elected onto the National Union of Students FE
Committee, and i have been working to represent you voice at a national
level, making policies and making sure the interest of LCC students are
met.
Those are the 5 things I will achieve next year. I love FE and representing YOUR
voices. I have got halfway to what I want achieve. Now I need your help to let get to the
final Hurdle. VOTE EMILY No.1 for SU President.
