EXAMPLE: Programmable encoders for industrial applications
The innovation: to provide encoders with new features like customization, flexibility, interoperability
and intelligence. Thus, encoders can be remotely programmed, reconfigured and monitored,
facilitating operations and reducing costs.
A new design based on new
microprocessors and an
exclusive USB communications
port has been designed,
engineered and implemented,
together with the
corresponding firmware.

Cetemmsa
ML2 - MultiLayer MicroLab will provide a design and manufacturing platform for the
production of sophisticated devices which combine microfluidics, optics and microelectronics.
ML2 devices will be compact devices with increased performance at lower prices while
providing higher sensitivity compared to existing MNBS. The packaging method and fully
automated production will lead to higher reproducibility, increased integration of bioactive
components and higher intelligence of the devices.

Original partner involved:
Ascamm
On-line artificial intelligence-based control system to offer a robust and flexible
production system in advanced cast iron foundries.
The system is currently being tested under industrial conditions and it includes different
data sources controled in real-time such as:
Chemical composition of the iron in the furnace
Differential Thermal Analysis of the iron in the furnace
Chemical composition of the iron in the pouring
Differential Thermal Analysis of the iron in the pouring
Moulding sand parameters
Probe’s mechanical tests
Defects parameters
