9. From Darkness to Light
Allah is the Protector of those who have faith: from
the depths of Darkness, He will lead them forth
into light. Of those who reject faith the patrons
are the evil ones: from light they will lead them
forth into the depths of Darkness. They will be
companions of the fire, to dwell therein (For
ever).
( Holy Quran , سورة البقرةAl-Baqara, Chapter #2,
Verse #257)
10. Seeking knowledge is my religion!
So long as man clamours for the I and Mine, his
works are naught;
When all love of the I and Mine is dead, then the
work of the Lord is done,
For work has no other aim, than getting
knowledge,
When that comes, the work is put away.
The flower blooms for the fruit, when the fruit is
borne the flower withers,
The musk is in the deer, but it seeks it not within
itself, it wanders in quest of grass.- Kabir Das
11. First Sermon of Buddha (Enlightened One)
And what, monks, is the middle path, by which
the one who has thus come has gained enlightenment,
which produces knowledge and insight,
and leads to peace, wisdom, enlightenment, and nirvana?
This is the noble eightfold way, namely,
correct understanding, correct intention,
correct speech, correct action, correct livelihood,
correct attention, correct concentration,
and correct meditation.
12. Mathew XXV 1-7
1. Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which
took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
3. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
5. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
7. But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
9. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
11. And at midnight there was a cry made, ‘Behold, the bridegroom
cometh; go ye out to meet him’.
13. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
13. Mathew XXV 8-13
1. And the foolish said unto the wise, ‘Give us of your oil; for our lamps are
gone out’.
3. But the wise answered, saying, ‘Not so; lest there be not enough for us and
you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves’.
5. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready
went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
7. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us’.
9. But he answered and said, ‘Verily I say unto you, I know you not’.
11. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son
of man cometh.
14. Verse of Light
‘God is the light of the heavens and the earth. The
similitude of His light is a niche in which there is
a lamp. The lamp is in a Glass, the Glass, like a
glistening star, kindled from a blessed olive tree,
neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil well
nigh glows though no fire has touched it: light
upon light. God guides to His light whom He
wills, and God strikes parables for human
beings, and God knows all things.’
- Qur’an 24:35 AN-NOOR
15. AT-Tahrim 66: 8
O ye who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere
repentance: In the hope that your Lord will
remove from you your ills and admit you to
Gardens beneath which Rivers flow,- the Day
that Allah will not permit to be humiliated the
Prophet and those who believe with him. Their
Light will run forward before them and by their
right hands, while they say, "Our Lord! Perfect
our Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for
Thou hast power over all things."
Notes de l'éditeur
From the First Sermon of Buddha when he spoke in the deer park at Benares recorded in the SAMYUTTA-NIKAYA V:420, one of the collections of the SUTTA PITAKA, the largest of the "three baskets" of early Buddhist texts.
The parable of the five wise and the five foolish virgins continues the emphasis of being prepared for a sudden coming of the Messiah. The parable begins by stating that it is a comparison to the kingdom of God (heaven). The kingdom will be marked by a sudden appearing of the bridegroom and some who were waiting will be prepared and others will not be prepared.
Ubayy ibn Ka`b said, ' the similitude of His light [takes place in] the Muslim's heart.' [Ibn Kathir, 3:464] This light, which He has placed in the heart, comes from gnosis, love, faith and the remembrance of God. It is the light that He has sent down to His servants, by which He gives them life, and by which they walk among people. Its origin is in their hearts, but then He strengthens and increases it until it appears upon their faces, limbs, bodies, even their clothes and dwellings. People of this nature perceive it, while others deny it. On the Day of Judgement, however, it will come forth by their faith, and hasten before them in the darkness of the Bridge, that they might cross it. They will proceed in proportion to either its strength or its weakness in their hearts during their life in the world. For one person, it will be like the sun, for another like the moon, the stars or a lamp. For yet another, this light will be only at the tips of his toes; it will shine, then go out [then shine, then go out]. For just as his light had been in this world, so he shall be given when crossing the Bridge. In fact, it is the selfsame light that had appeared to him before. However, just as the hypocrite has no real light in this world, or has only an outward light but none within, so shall he be given [on that Day] an outward light which will vanish in the darkness and be lost. http://www.islaam.com/Article.aspx?id=659
5542. The opposition of sex against sex, individual or concerted, having been condemned, we are now exhorted to turn to the Light, and to realise that the good and righteous can retain their integrity even though their own mates, in spite of their example and precept, remain in evil and sin. 5543. Whatever may have been the faults of the past, unite in good deeds, and abandon petty sectional jealousies, and Allah will remove your difficulties and distresses, and all the evils from which you suffer. Indeed He will grant you the Bliss of Heaven and save you from any humiliation which you may have brought on yourselves by your conduct and on the revered Prophet and Teacher whose name you professed to take. 5544. See 57:12, and n. 5288. The darkness of evil will be dispelled, and the Light of Allah will be realised by them more and more. But even so they will not be content: for they will pray for the least taint of evil to be removed from them, and perfection to be granted to them. In that exalted state they will be within reach of perfection-not by their own merits, but by the infinite Mercy and Power of Allah.
