Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been
evolving, there are changes that have made schooling harder, and some changes that have made
schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and their
own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make
learning more convenient, or are they unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more
problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the reason,
that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research.
During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade
twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads. Many students, throughout the long school
days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they
just don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their
fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to check out a laptop you have to leave your
phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of
the iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience
to them.

different techniques. The best way to understand how persuasive techniques can be used to convey
a point of view is by reading examples of persuasive writing. The newspaper, particularly in the
editorials and opinion pages, is full of examples. This will not only help you keep up with current
events, it will also help you develop the language skills necessary to do persuasive writing yourself.

With a persuasive text the purpose is mainly to persuade, but the author can also entertain, inform or
express something in addition to persuading. The addition of content to inform, entertain, or express
usually connects with the agenda of persuading, it adds to the persuasive strategies portion of the text.
Why does an author 's purpose matter anyway? Basically, understanding the reason behind the
writing will help the reader with the understanding the information. It gets the reader's mind
focused on what he or she will be reading. For example, if you are reading a persuasive text, you will
want to read carefully and look for the facts and the opinions and decide if you agree or not agree
with the author.
If a piece of writing was written to persuade, then the author is going to use words that will
convince you to do something or change your mind. Remember, writers can use a fact, a statistic,
and logical or emotional reasoning. You may read words such as did you know that..., 9 out of 10
employees stated..., some reasons why ..., I believe that..., and many others. These words help you
to center in on what the author is trying to convince you to do or believe.

proposals read like a television manual. After the first couple of sentences the reader wants to
groan and set it aside. Foundations want to feel inspired by your program. But don't over do it.

I took Persuasive Communication: 2367 with the only intention of fulfilling my writing and related
skills GE. I had no idea how much I would learn or how much I would enjoy the class. Throughout
the course we covered many topics regarding persuasion and persuasive communication. One of the
topics I really enjoyed was the history of persuasion. While persuasion has been around since the
beginning of human existence, the Greeks spearheaded the study of persuasion (Adams, 2017). The
Sophists were a group of scholars that were concerned with how to win an argument. They taught
manipulation, entrapping opponents, using intimidating language, and logic and reasoning. While
the Sophists believed that learning these skills were essential to training people to be good citizens,
others believed that their teachings were immoral. Plato taught that the ideal speaker is moral and
truthful, and his purpose should be to better the audience, not flatter of take advantage of them
(Which is why he hated the Sophists). Aristotle believed persuasion was more of a combination of
these theories. He believed that to have a compelling argument, three components were necessary:
ethos, pathos, and logos. This is when persuasion clicked for me. Persuasion became a
formula–creating strategies to persuade audiences became easier and I was better able to recognize

the central nervous system. The disease mainly affects the brain's ability to produce dopamine, a

referred to as the neurological disease to produce a breakthrough first, while very little money,

ordering mood and have a positive and negative part of the stanza's.
It also compares well to" To his coy mistress" by Andrew Marvell. Both of the poems are arguing
that time is running out so let me love you now while we have the time. They both use a lot of time
statements such as 'long loves day', nearer he's to setting' and 'ten years before'. The second poem,
"Of Beauty" by Richard Fanshawe, is a short, one stanza poem. It uses personification during the
middle of the stanza.
