Goal: to provide robotic solutions for security, personal care and education.
My primary research area is related to computational neuroscience and how information is processed in the cortical network of the brain. These models are then reduced and implemented in embodied solutions like robots, electronic devices and software programs. In this way self-organization is achieved at different scales from the microscopic level (ion-channels, neural networks) to the macroscopic scales like swarm systems. Swarm systems self-organise themselves using local interactions and communication but what plays an important role is the processing of the information.
