• The music of India is based on
traditional customs which are religious
in nature.
• The Vedic Chant came from the sacred
literature of the Aryans which was
written in 100 B.C containing the four
books, The Vedas, meaning “Book of
Knowledge” which is a large body of
religious texts originating in ancient
India.
5. Music of the Indians are considered
sacred. They associate the art and
music with the gods and
goddesses such as Brahma, the
creator; Shiva, the destroyer; and
Vishnu, the preserver.

- It is believed to be a song

- Since Indians believed in
reincarnation and that whatever is
happening now has occurred before and
will still happen in the future. So, the
music concept is continuously and

Enharmonium.

The Middle East is noted for its
praise songs. These are led by a
Muezzin, a prayer caller.
They also sing the Quran, called
Tajwidi by the Arabs, meaning
“art of public speaking.”
