From FY 2013 to FY 2016 ZED has seen a drop from 109 calendar days for acceptance to 34 days. These numbers incorporate the when the applicant has yet to make revisions to address staff comments (aka Deficiency Letters). In FY 2013 we accepted 283 applications and saw a spike to 535 in 2014 due primarily to home child care applications, which we will address later in this presentation. Those numbers leveled out to 327 in 2015 and we estimate 292 new applications for 2016, putting us ahead of pre-recession numbers.
This line graph represents the influx of Tysons applications in 2013 and 2014, but also increased efficiency on the part of staff working with developers throughout the process.
