Description
The Maintenance and Stormwater Management Division (MSMD), Department of Public Works and
Environmental Services, has completed a sediment removal and outfall restoration project at three
underground detention trenches (UG0494, UG0495, UG0496) located at Poplar Tree Elementary
School. The project consisted of vacuum cleaning 10 tons of accumulated sediment, fluid, and other
material from three blocked underground detention trenches. Control structures were cleared and
positive flow was restored to three outfalls. The project restored functionality as required by the County’s
MS4 Permit. The completion of this project will maximize the water quality benefits and provide
downstream protection.
