This document provides a summary of development, transportation projects, and studies in Tysons, VA. It discusses:
1) Recent development including new residential and office buildings as well as current construction projects.
2) Planned and approved development that will add over 60,000 residents and 160,000 jobs by 2050.
3) Transportation projects to improve roads and connectivity including the Jones Branch Connector and Route 7 widening.
4) Amendments to Tysons' comprehensive plan to reflect completed studies and additional work.

Tysons‐wide Roadway Projects
Phase I Update (Table 7)
Jones Branch Connector
• Preliminary design (30% level) developed;
• Comments received from VDOT.
• The Interchange Modification Report (IMR) and National
Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reevaluation related documents
have been prepared and are being reviewed.
• Final approval anticipated early 2015.
• FCDOT will administer the Preliminary Engineering (PE) and
Right‐of‐Way (ROW) phases. VDOT will administer Construction (CN).
• Current Activity: Intermediate design in progress, preparation
continuing for a planned December 2014 public hearing.
• Scheduled completion of construction – 2018.
