1. Beaker
Appearance: Cylindrical borosilicate glass container with flat
bottom and upper opening with rim and a spout that aids in
proper pouring of solutions. It also comes with graduated
calibrations/ measurements.
Features: Disposable (One-use) and Graduated (marked with
measurement)
Uses:
a. Hold varying volumes of liquid.
b. Not used for precise measurements of liquids.
Types:
a. Griffin/Low form/ Standard beaker
- Universally known beakers. Lower beakers with
40% of diameter as height.
- Used for preparing solutions, decanting
supernatant fluids, holding waste fluids, and
performing simple reactions.

b. Berzelius/Tall form
- Used for titration (slow addition of solution of a
known concentration (titrant) to another solution
of unknown concentration until reaction reaches
neutralization) where solutions are mixed to
generate results.
