axis. They ﬁll in the worksheet, they speak
aloud, sharing stories and narrating their

• Gets people comfortable in both doing
• Creates a venue for stories you may not be
able to access through everyday
WHEN TO USE IT:
This is good to follow an interview, and can
ﬂow easily into a Create activity.
EXAMPLE: Sometimes it can be hard to talk about the journey that people take
through the process of being diagnosed and treated for a disease. The above is
an emotional journey map that encourages patients to tell stories about how
they felt in diﬀerent parts of the diagnosis and treatment process, through the
lens of how the treatment process felt to them.
