2. Our EVS took place in
Blagoevgrad, a southwestern city in
Bulgaria. We spent one month
there, living and volunteering with
people from various countries.
And here is a bit more about it...

3. Blagoevgrad thanks to the
American University of Bulgaria,
the presence of other organizations
and friendly locals is a place where
you quickly find yourself being part
of the community.
Our office was located in Mall of Blagoevgrad

4. Integrity
The goal of the project was to address the
problem of cultural integration and social
exclusion and focuses on the themes of
inclusion, youth involvement, citizenship
and cultural diversity.

5. The project objectives:
- promote solidarity among people;
- develop cooperation and mutual
understanding;
- promote volunteering as a tool for civic
participation and a mechanism for
acquiring skills;
- support populations in processes of social
exclusion, including minority groups;
- promote intercultural learning.

6. During the project...
We organized various events for the local
community, such as cooking classes,
workshops, language classes

We were responsible for conducting
sports activities and games

8. During the project...
We took part in promoting cultural
diversity and breaking stereotypes about
the volunteers' countries

9. What we learned...
During our work, we learned a lot about
organizing events, digital marketing,
graphic design, and creative writing.

10. What we learned...
We also improved our language skills
(not only English). After a month of
communicating in a foreign language,
we notice a significant improvement in
confidence speaking English.

11. This EVS experience gave us also an
amazing chance to connect with
people from different countries and
make international friendships.

12. Apart from our volunteering tasks, we immersed into
bulgarian culture...
