The NSE Nifty shut shop above the 5000 mark for the first time since August 17. Friday’s upswing was led by metals, oil & gas, auto and realty stocks. Even the mid-cap stocks saw some buying in trade. However, the BSE Small-Cap index ended almost unchanged.
