The realm of conversational user interfaces, or conversations with smart machines, lies squarely in one of Gartner’s top technology trends in both 2020 and 2021 – hyperautomation, in which advanced technologies are used to, among other outcomes, create a “digital twin” of an organization. The rise of voice assistants (e.g. Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri) and chatbots (using either custom or established social messaging platforms) is changing the way audiences are interacting with businesses. Communication between the companies and leads or customers is becoming a real-time dialogue that can happen anytime, anywhere. Conversational user interfaces are an evolving component of the fast, convenient, and streamlined customer experiences of tomorrow.
