Since 1997, Meinhardt Singapore has been managing and providing key integrated
engineering services in the Middle East and North Africa regions, covering projects
in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Libya.
Harnessed with a wealth of experience and resources, we have in the last decade
become one of the fastest growing companies in the region, employing over 200
staff in the Middle East. Our offices are strategically located, with the capabilities to
lead and undertake super-scale buildings and infrastructure projects in the region
and beyond.
In expanding our reach in a significant way, Meinhardt has not only demonstrated
resilience and flexibility in adapting to a new environment and the needs of our
clients, but also our professional excellence through strong and reliable performance.

A pioneer in the engineering industry, Bill Meinhardt will always be
remembered for his firm’s work on tall buildings and his bold move into
Asia in 1970’s. With a vision to create a truly international multi-disciplinary
engineering consultancy with offices throughout Australia and Asia, he
oversaw the growth of Meinhardt from a one-person operation in 1955 to
a global multi-disciplinary business with more than 1200 employees in
13 countries around the world in 2003
Bill Meinhardt
Bill Meinhardt graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1955 and
Founder - Meinhardt started a young business –W.J and W.L Meinhardt. He proved that his
company was destined to join this elite group in 1972 when he won
the structural engineering contract for Nauru House in his home city of
Melbourne. At that time, it was Australia’s Tallest building and the country’s
largest reinforced concrete building. It remained so until Melbourne’s
Rialto Towers was constructed 10 years later – also a Meinhardt project.
In 1973, at a time when it was unheard of for Australian companies
to enter the Asian market, Bill seized an opportunity to set up a joint
venture for a Singapore project with engineers Bylander Waddell from
UK. While Meinhardt eventually bought out the joint partner, this was the
springboard for what is now a network of offices throughout Asia.
While undoubtedly a pioneer in Asia, Bill Meinhardt’s vision has not
stopped there, year 2000 saw the establishment of a London office
servicing UK and Europe and the expansion into US with the opening
of the New York office in late 2002. The spirit of entrepreneurship has
always been a hallmark of Meinhardt and while it was initially driven by
Bill Meinhardt, it is now firmly embedded as a core value of the company.
