The Kenowa Hills Public Schools is proposing a $14.3 million bond issue on May 4, 2010 to address various facility needs. The proposal focuses on improving safety, security and technology, replacing buses, and upgrading athletic facilities. It would not result in a tax rate increase as millage would be reduced by 0.3 mills. The bond is divided into phases, with the first addressing immediate needs and leaving capacity for future bonds. Passage of the bond would help protect the operational budget by reducing energy costs and avoiding general fund expenditures.
