This CPD course is designed for educators, clinicians and teaching professionals who would like to integrate e-learning technologies into their teaching strategies. It may also be of general value to those who are interested in learning more about some of the most commonly used technologies, or would like to implement them in their interaction with students but are not sure how to do so. This course is aimed at individuals who are not experienced users of e-learning technologies.

4. Target Audience
This course is designed for educators and
professionals who would like to integrate
technology into their teaching, either within
the classroom or when moving from
classroom-based to online courses. The aim is
to equip participants with knowledge and
hands-on experience of a variety of
technologies and applications that can
improve their teaching methods and flexibility.
5. Course Summary
This course introduces technologies and
applications that can be used for education. In
particular, Google applications are extensively
covered across 4 of the topics. Each topic is
independently run so knowledge of the
previous week’s materials is not required.
7. How is it taught?
You can choose to do this course
exclusively online through the use of
videos, PowerPoints, articles and links to
online material OR by attending the
face-to-face classes Fridays 2:30 – 4:30
which will cover the same material but
with guidance (minimum of 5
participants needed for each face-to-
face session).
8. Course structure
The course is run over eight
weeks, requiring an investment
of two to three hours per week,
which includes time for
activities and a reflection. You
have to do the first topic,
“Introduction to e-learning”,
but the other topics are all
optional - you select which ones
you would like to do.
9. Cost & CPD points
The course is supported and funded by the
Education Development Unit, Health Sciences
and will be offered free of charge. You will
receive up to 4 CPD points for completed
topics (maximum of 16 CPD points).
