ENDEMIC BIRDS
Parrot
Parrots are intelligent
birds.
 They have relatively
large brains, they can
learn, and they can use
simple tools Because
some species have the
ability to make sounds
like human voices and
have plumages with bright
colors, many species are
raise as pets.
 The scientific name of
parrot is Psittaciformes.
Peacock
 Peacock is
National Bird of
India.
 Peacock is very
beautiful.
 Peacock has a long
neck and a crown
on its head.
 Peacock has
colorful and long
feathers.
 The scientific name
of peacock is Pavo.
Mynah
 In India, mynas are a
symbol of everlasting
love.
 The Hill Myna, Common
Myna and Crested Myna
are approximately 10
inches long, with a wing
span of between 18 and 20
inches; they weigh
between 4 and 7 oz.
 The scientific name of
myna is Gracula religiosa
Sparrow
 Sparrows are
extremely vocal birds
that chirp all the time.
 Sparrows are
extremely social birds
that mainly nest in
colonies.
 Concerning sparrow
diet, these creatures
are primarily
carnivores in nature.
 The scientific name of
sparrow is
Crow
 The Crow is believed to be
the most intelligent of all
birds.
 Crows are identified by their
black feathers, black eyes
and the caw-caw sound they
make.
 Adult crows have a light
violet gloss on their body
and a greenish blue gloss
on their wings.

is Corvas.
Pigeon
 Pigeons are incredibly
complex and intelligent
animals.
 They are one of only a small
number of species to pass
the ‘mirror test’ – a test of
self recognition.
 They can also recognize
each letter of the human
alphabet, differentiate
between photographs, and
even distinguish different
humans within a
photograph.
Crane
 Cranes are tall birds
with long legs.
 They are usually
brown, white, or gray in
their color.
 There are over 15
kinds of species of
cranes.
 They look rather like
herons.
 The scientific name of
crane is Gruidae
Kingfisher
The kingfisher is a
small to medium sized
colorful bird generally
found close to water.
 There are nearly 100
different species of
the kingfisher bird
found around the
world.
The scientific name of
kingfisher is
Alcedines.
Eagle
 There are more than 60
different species of
eagle.
 Eagles are different
from many other birds
of prey mainly by their
larger size, more
powerful build, and
heavier head and beak.
 Most eagles are larger
than any other raptors
apart from vultures.
 The scientific name of
Eagle is Haliaeetus
leucocephalus
Kite
 There are five types of kites
living in North America.
 All five species are found in
the southern states and
also in Mexico.
 These smaller sized raptors
acquire their names
because of their ability to
use the wind currents to
their advantage as they
soar in hunt of prey.
 The scientific name of kite
is Milvus milvus.
