4. Quatrain 1-35
The young lion will overcome the older one,
in a field of combat in single fight:
He will pierce his eyes in their golden cage;
two wounds in one, then he dies a cruel death.
This quatrain made Nostradamus famous in his own
lifetime. It describes a royal duel in 1559 in which King
Henry II of France was mortally wounded in the eye
and neck by the lance of his younger opponent, Captain
Montgomery of the Scottish Guard. Nostradamus has
recorded this prophecy 4 years before the incident.
5. Quatrain 3-55
In the year that one eye will reign in France,
The court will be in very unpleasant trouble:
The great one of Blois will kill his friend:
The realm placed in harm and double doubt.
After the death of Henry II his three sons in rapid
succession ascended to throne of France during a period
of great internal strife. In 1588 Henry III summoned his
personal friend, Duke of Guise, to Bloise and had him
murdered. This resulted in all out war between the
Royalists and Legitimists, splitting the kingdom in two.
6. Quatrain 1-70
Rain, famine and war will not cease in Persia;
too great a faith will betray the monarch.
Those (actions) started in France will end there,
a secret sign for on to be sparing.
The monarchy of Persia(now Iran) had
continued on for many centuries, but in this
prophecy Nostradamus not only predicts it’s
end but states that the order will come from
France. And in 1979 Ayatollah
Khomeini, living in exile in France, does in
fact issue a secret order to his followers to
overthrow the Iranian Monarchy.
7. Quatrain 1-25
The lost thing is discovered, hidden for many centuries.
Pasteur will be celebrated almost as a god-like figure.
This is when the moon completes her great cycle,
but by other rumours he shall be dishonoured.
This quartrain is belived to predict Louis
Pasteur’s famous discovery of the long-hidden
microbe. It even contains Pasteur’s name.
Skeptics note that Pasteur translates directly
into „Shepherd”.
8. Quatrain 2-6
Near the gates and within two cities
There will be two scourges the like of which was never seen,
Famine within plague, people put out by steel,
Crying to the great immortal God for relief.
This quartrain is believed to be a description
of the horror that occured as a result of the
twin atomic bombings on Hiroshima and
Nagasaki near the end of WWII.
9. Quatrain 12-52
Two bodies, one head, fields divided in two,
And then to reply to four unheard ones:
Little ones for great ones, clear evel for them,
Lightning at the tower of Aiguesmortes, worse for quot;Eussouisquot;
Quartrain 10-72
The year 1999, seventh month,
From the sky will come a great King of Terror:
To bring back to life the great King of the Mongols,
Before and after Mars to reign by good luck.
Did Nostradamus really predict 9/11? You
can find texts on the internet, which claim to
be the prophecies of Nostradamus, but are
actually fake.
10. Popular fake
In the year of the new century and nine months,
From the sky will come a great King of Terror...
The sky will burn at forty-five degrees.
Fire approaches the great new city...
In the city of York there will be a great collapse,
2 twin brothers torn apart by chaos
while the fortress falls the great leader will succumb
third big war will begin when the big city is burning
