colonized country?)
c. Country's social, economic or political dependency.

a. Government System (democracy, dictatorship,
constitutional monarchy, parliamentary)
b. Government status (Current president, prime minister,
how long has he or she been in the power)
c. Last elections report (political parties brief description
and available last elections statistics)
d. Ongoing events. (compilation of last important news
about the country plus an short analysis of them)
4. Demographics
a. Population
b. Demographic indicators (mortality rate, sex, age)
c. Food and nutrition statistics
d. Ethnic groups presence in the territory
e. Employment statistics
f. Migration and immigration statistics (consider countries involved and
main causes to migrate or immigrate)
g. Refugees (current situation and kind of refugees)
h. Social Issues: Describe situation, point out any Human Right violations
i. War issues: List current guerrilla groups and most important criminal
bands
f. News: Summary of five pieces of important news about the country.
Include a brief analysis and if possible, the original printed articles
5. Culture
a. Literacy rate
b. Education (include any possible statistics about it)
c. Advances in Science and Technology
d. Religion
e. Other cultural aspects to outstand (custumes, folklore,
national holidays and important traditions)
f. News: Summary of five pieces of important cultural news
about the country. Include a brief analysis and if possible, the
original printed articles
g. News: Summary of news regarding education in the country

a. Per capita income
b. GDP (Gross Domestic Product)
c. Foreign Debt (List all countries your country owe and
quantity if possible)
d. Export and import statistics (Include most important
products)
e. Inflation rate
f. Sectors of Economy (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary
g. Foreign Assistance (Kind of help received by other countries
on a regular basis and countries involved)
h. Natural resources (also mention the importance in country’s
market and international market
i. International Treaties (Free Trade Agreements and any other
your country collaborates with)
j. Economic level (Global/Regional Trade Blocs your country
belongs to.
k. News (Two pieces of news regarding the economy of your
country)
7. United Nations
a. United Nations background (Is your country a member of the
United Nations? When was it accepted as a member?
b. Briefly present the country’s issue you will discuss at the UN
Conference
c. Negative influence (How does the issue mentioned above,
affect your country and other countries
d. Public concern (What is the general public’s reaction to it?)
e. Government’s action plan (What actions has your country
taken to tackle the problem?)
f. Problem hierachy. What are the priorities to face the
problems in your country?
g. Debate. (What is the specific country’s position in the debate
before the General Conference of the UN?)
e. International Treaties. (Has your country signed any
international treaty to face the problem that you want to
debate in the UN Conference?)
8. Attached Documents
a. Please have all documentation available in your portfolio in a
way you can access it easily.
b. You are encouraged to keep an index page so you can find
any document efficiently in the moment of the debate.
