2. Thank you so much for volunteering to make a webinar for the Girls
Write Now Digital Program! In addition to this powerpoint, you should
have received:
• A release form to be signed and returned.
• A due date, so we can post this webinar close to the
corresponding workshop.
And if you are assembling the webinar on your own:
• Our logo to add in the corner.
• The opening and theme music.
If you are not on GWN staff, you will be credited as a volunteer!
Please include a title for the badge the mentee will receive when
they complete this webinar
(i.e. Machinima Maniac or Animation Maven)
3. - Webinars demonstrate the Digital Program’s sense of community.
Mentors and Mentees also have the chance to create and share
their own webinars.
- Unfortunately, we can not teach mentees everything in Dorkshops.
Webinars are not only a great supplementary learning tool, but also
a good system for mentees to choose what they spend time
learning.
4. - Girls Write Now’s voice is fun, lively, thoughtful, and gutsy. We are a
community of smart and passionate women and young women.
Although the digital program focuses on fostering digital skills,
writing is its core.
- We will focus 99.9% on using free or open source programs, and
how to get the most out of them. (for example, how to “hack” iMovie
to get Final Cut features)
- Webinars are a jumping off point for mentees to learn new skills on
their own.
