Arrival at Douala. Overnight at a 3-star hotel or high standard mission rest house. Day 2: Douala – Limbe. Brief stops on the way to see some attraction such as the Mungo River, which has a lot of politico-historical significance. For example it is one of the boundaries between the English and French speaking parts of Cameroon. At Tiko, visit the following agricultural establishments: rubber plantation and factory, banana plantation and Oil palm estate and factory. Procede to Limbe and visit the Botanic Garden and Wildlife Centre. Overnight in a hotel. Day 3: Limbe – West Coast – Limbe – Bues. Climb to the outcrops of the rocks formed after the last volcanic eruption of Mount Cameroon. Visit the wettest place in West Africe, called Debunscha and procede to Idenau. What await visitors there is the small but very busy port from where boats transport passengers to peninsular parts of Cameroon such as Bakassi. Other attractions at Idenau include the fishing villages where you have dominantly people from some West African countries. Have a taste of the local gastronomy made of fish, cocoyams or bobolo (made out of fermented cassava). Return to Limbe for overnight. Day 4: Limbe – Buea. Climb Mount Cameroon. Day 5: Return from Mount Cameroon and visit other attractions, mostly colonial edifices, built during the German colonial period. Day 6: Buea – Mundemba. Visit cocoa and coffee farms and local preliminary transformation units. The road from Kumba to Mundemba is one of the worst in Cameroon and usually the journey between Kumba and Mundemba is difficult and tiring. Overnight . Day 7: Mundemba – Korup National Park. Explore the rich fauna and flora of the park. It is the oldest evergreen forest in Africa and its rich biodiversity has remained almost in intact. Rare primates such as the mandrills are easily seen. There are traces of large apes such as chimpanzees and gorillas but it is very very difficult to see them. Birdlife is abundant, and very endemic species such as the Rockfowl are easily seen. The flora is so unique. In fact Korup Forest has been a renowned centre of extensive scientific research. Day 8: Korup – Mundemba – Kumba. Overnight in Kumba after discovering some aspects of the thrilling nightlife from a popular public drinking place. Day 9: Kumba – Bamenda. Visit a fascinating waterfall at Ekom-Nkam, at which you see some ritual sacrifice being performed. Lunch at a roadside market before continuing to Bamenda. Along the way experience the varied landscapes (large escarpments, rolling hills and plateaux). Overnight in a hotel . Day 10: Bamenda – Guzang – Bamenda. Visit a combined waterfall and cave and locals producing the indigenous beverage at their farms. Also experience the local method of producing palm oil. On return from Guzang tour the Bamenda town including craft centres and the palace of the traditional ruler of Mankon, whose Kingdom occupies most of the Bamenda city. The palace has a rich museum. Overnight in Bamenda. Day 11: Bamenda – Wum – Lake Nyos – Wum. Drive past the flood plains of Bafut, with the many rice farms on the banks of the meandering River Menchum. At one point watch hefty busy loading sand into large trucks, heading for Bamenda. The River Menchum has a large waterfall at one point. It is quite interesting to watch the splashing waters from this fall and feel the refreshing air emanating from there. Take a journey from the waterfall to the lake. Lake is dreaded for having exploded in 1986 and the toxic gas it produced killed about 1700 persons and many animals. A lot of mystery still surrounds this event. The government of Cameroon embarked on a process to eliminate the gas found at the bottom of the lake, with technical and financial assistance coming from friendly nations. Visit the survivors who have returned to Subum, their ancestral land, which they abandoned after the deadly event. Provide any assistance if possible. Return to Wum for overnight

2. DETAILED ITINERARY PROGRAMME:
Day 1: Douala
Arrival at the Douala International Airport, reception by Global bush Representative, transferred to
the hotel. Brief tour of the City, leisure activities, dinner and night in the hotel.
Day 2: Bafoussam
Drive through rubber, banana and coffee plantations on the road to Bafoussam. Visit the tropical
flower plantation as well as the impressive Ekom Waterfalls. Later stop at Baham to visit the palace of
a traditional Bamileke chief. Continue drive to Bafoussam, visit the Statute of king Njoya, The Royal
Palace Museum, the Chief’s Palace, Dinner and Overnight in Bafoussam .
Day 3: Bamenda
Breakfast, departure for Bamenda, visit the sacred Mectchie waterfalls en route, where local Bamileke
people come to make sacrifices in the hopes that their wishes will be granted. On arrival in Bamenda,
visit the local markets and the chief’s palace at nearby Bafut, where you will see traditional dances by
the princes and princesses. Later in the day lodging, dinner and night in Hotel.
Day 4: Wum – Okpwa
Breakfast, continue on the ‘Ring Road’ to Wum, visiting Menchum Falls along the way. The scenery of
this area is quite beautiful, with meadows, mountains and lakes, punctuated with Fulani herders
tending their livestock. Upon arrival in Wum set off on foot to reach the village of Okpwa, our base for
the next two nights. Overnight in tents or a village house.
Day 5: Okpwa
Breakfast, spend the day in Okpwa, settling into the rhythm of village life and learning about the
traditions and customs of the Bororo people who live there. This is a fantastic insight into the
intricacies of life in rural Cameroon, and one of the highlights of the trip. Dinner and Overnight in
tents or a village house.
Day 6: Wum – Bamenda – Babungo
Breakfast, we say goodbye to our hosts and walk back to Wum, where we visit the beautiful crate lake.
Drive back to Bamenda and take a short tour of the city’s sites before heading to Babungo. Lunch, visit
the museum at the Fon’s Palace, home to more than 3000 traditional masks. Dinner and overnight at
the Babungo Foundation guesthouse or village houses.

3. Day 7: Babungo - Foumban
Breakfast, Tour round to visit some of the projects of the Babungo Foundation, a village community
initiative which includes a pig farm, a traditional and modern clinic and a school. We then drive to
Foumban. The town is renowned for its excellent traditional crafts and is rich in history, with good
museums and a superb royal palace. Spend time exploring the town’s key sites. Dinner and overnight
in Foumban Guest house or Hotel.
Day 8: Bamenda – Yaoundé
Breakfast, Drive back to Yaoundé via Bafoussam, where we visit the small market. Arrival in Yaoundé,
lodging into hotel. Leisure activities, dinner and night in hotel.
Day 9: Yaoundé - Maroua – Oudjilla – Waza National Park
Breakfast, boarding a train for Far North Region passing through Ngaoundere. While onboard discover
its desert landscape which different from that of other regions. Upon, visit the village of Oudjilla with
its chief’s palace, set in a walled compound and home to his wives and children. Oudjilla is set amidst
stunning scenery, and if lucky we may meet the chief, who has more than forty wives. Later in the day
drive to Waza National Park where we spend the night in the Camp.
Day 10: Waza National Park
Breakfast, spend the day on game drives through the park, looking for elephants, antelopes, giraffes
and lion as well as other species. Waza is one of the region’s best national parks and large herds of
elephants can often be seen at the waterholes here, while chances to spot lions are good, dinner and
night in Camp.
Days 11 – 12: Mandara Mountains
Breakfast, departure for the hauntingly beautiful landscape of the Mandara Mountains, where villages
are dotted around volcanic plugs jutting into the sky. Stop over first at Djinglya and visit a traditional
Mafa home as well as the Handicraft Co-operative Centre. Lunch, latter in the day, visit to the village of
Rhumsiki, set amidst some of Cameroon’s most stunning scenery. Visit the potters, weavers and the
crab sorcerer, who predicts the future using crabs. Spend time exploring this traditional area before
heading back to Maroua on Day 12. Dinner and overnights at Rhumsiki or in the Hotel.
Day 13: Maroua - Yaoundé
Departure in the morning from Maroua to Garoua for Yaoundé, boarding a train for Yaounde, dinner
and night on board the train.
Day 14: Yaoundé - Douala
Breakfast onboard train, Arrival in Yaoundé transfer to hotel, brief tour of the town. Departure later in
the afternoon for Douala, upon arrival takeoff for the Douala International Airport. Departure
formalities, farewell greetings, take off and end of Tour.
