  20. 20. how the school deals with students’ problems MIDDLE SCHOOL Students are generally hard working and responsible.The majority has quite good school results, but there are also students with excellent results; pupils attend lessons quite regularly. They are quite lively, but gnerally polite. However some students, luckily a minority, are not properly helped by their family in their school activities,usually because of a difficult economic and social situation. That’s why the school tries to help these students with curricular or extra- curricular revision activities. There are not serious behavioural problems, but the school tries to prevent them through targeted interventions, with the help of a psychologist or other targeted projects. HIGH SCHOOL Students attending these schools are from different social backgroujnds. Most of them belong to families having farms or agricultural activities and they are not so enthusiastic in studying. At the same time it’s difficult for these families to support their children in their school activities. But a lot of students try to improve their knowledges and have good school results. For these reasons the school help students with school extra-activities, recovery courses. Luckily there are not so many behavioural problems because the students are polite and respect the school rules.
  21. 21. positive aspects of the school The strengths of the school are: ● the continuity vertical dimension through the different schools, which is expressed by different workshops between students and common planning activities among teachers; ● the restricted context due to the small number of students that consequently leads to an optimal student/teacher ratio and certainly represents an element of "advantage" for the start of curricular innovations, which allow a more flexible organization of learning paths; ● the good teacher stability, especially in primary and secondary schools;
  22. 22. ● the close link between the school and the local community plays a fundamental role; ● the knowledge of a context rich in history and art; ● the tradition of the oil and wine production ● the grandfathers’ teaching about vegetable garden or ancient crafts,etc.
