This document summarizes two user cases of elderly individuals in the Basque Country and how technology could help meet their needs. Edurne, age 75 and living alone, needs support with daily tasks and strengthening her social network. Ignacio, age 81 and living alone with limited mobility, needs coordinated care, prevention of health issues, and accessible health information. Technology could help both users by providing information, increasing social contact, expanding social networks, activating community support, and enabling remote health monitoring and communication to improve care coordination and self-management of conditions.
