1. Welcome to my teaching portfolio. A place where I collect my educational
thoughts, lesson plans and ideas. I see technology playing an increasingly
important role in education in America. To be active as world citizens, and
competitive in a global marketplace, students will continue to find
technology used as a method of research, as a form of interactive
communication and as a means of making our way of life more efficient
and creative. It is my goal to make technology accessible, and an
integrated part of the classroom routine and the educational experiences in
my classroom. Please feel free to look around. I welcome comments and
ideas, as I continue my lifelong education.
I am currently a senior at Michigan State University, majoring in
Elementary Education and Integrated Science. I will be graduating in May
and completing a Pre-Internship Teaching Study Abroad in Australia this
summer. My year-long internship will be completed in Lansing, Michigan
during the 09-10 school year.
My choice of teaching major stems from a lifelong love of the environment,
problem solving, mathematics, and of course working with children. I
connect with an integrated curriculum, that causes students to approach a
topic from many angles, and points of view. Inquiry allows opportunity for
students to think, and plan, research, evaluate and present on topics that
promote interest and have real-life application outside of the classroom.
Where I’m from, education is the key to success,
We’ll support you along the way, but the rest is up to you.
I’m from to live large, you can spend little.
2. We live like no one else,
So we can live like no one else.
I’m from think outside the box, re-connect with nature and breathe.
I’m from matter and energy, and the sum of many lives.
I’m from choices made and fates aligned.
I’m from the Badlands, where good people embraced a young family.
I’m from my name means Princess of the Morning,
But I prefer a sunset to a sunrise.
I’m from our religion unites, strengthens and defines us,
To we find solitude in the great outdoors.
I’m from we’ve worked this land for over one-hundred years,
It’s where our family was born and lays at Pilgrim’s Rest.
I’m from home is where the heart is,
And one hug from you makes me feel better already.
I’m from we make things grow, pansies taste great in salads,
And tea can be made from the leaves we gathered.
I’m from, I love you more than the morning sunrise,
Let me see your beautiful face,
And I am so proud of you.
I’m from there is no singing at the dinner table
Or you’ll be crying after supper.
I’m from Kid Town, where the path you take is the path you rake.
3. Until your hands are bleeding and the sun has gone down,
And you might be in trouble for not getting back before dark.
But at the moment, all that matters is to get this stuff done,
Because tomorrow is a new day, and there is so much more we want to
do.
I’m from what yours is mine, show kindness to others and be good in all
things.
I’m from the place that we are from
Does not define or determine our destiny.
I’m from your future is in your hands,
But there is always a seat for you at our table.
Know your students, where they're from, and where they want to go.
Education occurs in and out of school, and it is the collection of ones'
environment, experiences and choices that create the people we are, and
the people that we will become. My ideal classroom is founded on mutual
respect and creativity. Respect for oneself and others, creativity in all
things. It is a place to share your ideas, ask questions and a place to
Learn and Grow by communicating your thoughts with others. I believe that
every child deserves to have the greatest future possible, that each one is
capable of great things. I teach to ensure great minds for the future, to
form a productive and kind society and to Inspire a Love and Lust for
Learning.
