ACT ONLINE PREPARATION Chaves County high school students now have access to the ACT Online Prep School Edition. Gear Up acquired site licenses for Dexter, Hagerman, Goddard, Lake Arthur, and Roswell High School. ACT Online Prep will provide GearUp students comprehensive content review for each of the ACT's four required tests— English, Math, Reading, and Science . For more information, students may contact their high school counselor.

GEARUP PROVIDES LEARNING TECHNOLOGY FOR SCHOOLS ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],GEAR U Page Gear Up recently provided training to local middle school teachers on a new system designed to improve student classroom learning. Known as “clicker systems” these Classroom Performance Systems () allow each student to use a remote device to answer questions posed by the instructor from a PowerPoint pres ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],classroom mentoring and instruction techniques unique to Gear Up target students. Training includes the STAR Reading Program and Explicit Instruction. Superintendent of Dexter Schools, Patricia Parsons stated, “ We have For the past two years, Gear Up has contracted with Dr. Sharon Gatti-Carson to provide professional development services to Gear Up instructors in Dexter schools. Dr. Gatti-Carson provides instructors with School students worked with Harvest Ministries throughout the year. Students helped every Thursday by measuring and bagging over three hundred pounds of flour and rice. They also bagged potatoes, onions, and packed food boxes. Gear Up staff rewarded these dedicated students for their hard work by providing them dinner and a trip to ‘Christmas on the Pecos’ in Carlsbad.
