WWW stands for the World Wide Web. The World Wide Web is different than the internet because the internet has many sub-categories and the World Wide Web is one of them. A browser is a software application that is used for retrieving, presenting and traversing information. Two examples of a browser are: Google Chrome and Internet Explorer

4. Surfer Dude: Search Engine and Superhighway Information ! A search engine is a internet site that used to research relevant information about a certain topic or subject. Two examples of search engines are: Google and Ask.com. Ways parents can promote internet safety are: complete computer scans (to see what internet sites have been visited, and parents can put up blockers to block certain websites and to. The only information that should be given out on the internet should be your nickname, that has nothing to do with your real name and that doesn’t have your real name in it. Information that shouldn’t be given out would be your address, your phone number and any other personal information. Three benefits form joining the information super highway would be connectivity, easy to find information, easier to enjoy art and entertainment.

5. Netiquette is a list of rules and proper behavior required for the internet. One basic rule of netiquette is to remember that you are dealing with real people online. The internet is not just “pretend”. A flame is when someone sends rude or offensive emails to another person. A flame war is when a person types in a rude message and sends it. Then the person receives this offensive message and posts another rude comment back. This can continue for a long time. Avoid flame wars by treating everyone with respect and manners and good behavior. Two things you should always remember when online is to be patient with others and never go online when you are angry or upset. Treat everyone as you would want to be treated. 7. Online Chat Online Chat: An online chat is a place online where you can talk to people using a nickname. Some benefits of a chat room are that you can talk to your friends and you can get information for stuff. A problem you my encounter is someone might lie or you may feel uncomfortable about what is said.

8. Ways you can stay safe Never give out any personal information such as where you live, your real name, school or any extra curricular things like basketball or cheerleading. If there is any personal information or anything you feel that is inappropriate tell an adult immediately and log off.
