This is a ten minute presentation that took ten minutes to create and another ten to deliver. It was given at the Danville/Sycamore Valley Rotary club on 3/8/2011. The objective was to help some less technical users get more involved in Social Media.

2. Google Alerts Navigate to http://www.google.com/alerts Create an account if needed Create an alert for Danville/Sycamore Rotary Set “How Often” to a threshold you find acceptable

3. Hyper Alerts Navigate to http://www.hyperalerts.no/ Create an account Click “Add alert by URL” Provide the URL of the DSVRotary page http://facebook.com/dsvrotary Set the time and threshold to an appropriate level

4. DSV Rotary Website Navigate to http://dsvrotary.com In the upper right navigation bar Enter your Email address Click “Subscribe” and follow the options

5. Interact When you receive alerts follow the links provided and interact. Comment, Re-tweet or share things that show up in Google Alerts “Like” and comment on Facebook posts. Comment, Re-tweet or share things that show up on DSVrotary.com Social media is about discussion, interaction and sharing….
