Bitget was founded with a steadfast belief in being the last 10% who remain committed even in the face of adversity.
With a background in traditional finance, Bitget’s founding team discovered blockchain technology in 2015. In 2018, they became
intrigued by cryptocurrency after studying the Bitcoin whitepaper and Ethereum ecosystem. They believed that cryptocurrency
would play an important role in the future and even benefit the unbanked groups. However, the market crash chased away most
speculators, and less than 10% of people chose to stick to their convictions and rebuild. Bitget was then officially founded in the
same year.
Bitget was born in a bear market, it insists on putting users first, focusing on product innovation, and advocating long-term
prospects with the spirit of "earnestness." The company aims to inspire people to embrace crypto and improve the way they
trade, one at a time.

The Bitget Protection Fund is an emergency reserve
with the purpose of protecting our users' funds.
The Bitget Protection Fund is currently valued at
US$300 million, readily available in BTC, USDT & USDC.
Bitget pledges to secure the value of the Bitget
Protection Fund at US$300 million for at least the next
three years.
Operated in full transparency, the assets are stored in
seven wallet addresses that are public for users to
track in real-time.

14. To bring more transparency about the assets on our
platform, Bitget launched its Proof of Reserves page in
December 2022.
Each user can verify that their funds are included in
the Merkle tree by checking the total amount of users'
assets stored in the Merkle Tree leaf nodes.
Bitget reserve ratio will be updated on a monthly basis,
and is currently at nearly 2.2 times the total user assets.
