More than 200 million active users 2009
2.6 billion minutes are spent on Facebook each day (worldwide)
More than 700 million photos uploaded to the site each month
140 new applications added per day




Founder Mark Zuckerberg sees Facebook as more
than just social networking, he sees it as a force for
social action.

“Both U.S. President Barack Obama and French
President Nicholas Sarkozy have used Facebook as a
way to organize their supporters. From the protests
against the Colombian FARC, a 40-year old terrorist
organization, to fighting oppressive, fringe groups in
India, people use Facebook as a platform to build
connections and organize action.”

Over the last six months the
number of video uploads
from mobile phones to
YouTube has jumped 1700%.                                                               YouTube will serve 75 billion
                                                                                        video streams to 375 million
                                                                                           unique visitors in 2009
