12. linkAges™ Developer Challenge
Create Signal Detection Solution:
• Create solutions focused on “Signal Detection”
– Detection and use of signals of physical and social
health of our seniors
– Tracking and interpreting data that will forewarn
of impending events
• Potential to significantly improve health
outcomes and quality of life
• Implementable for seniors living in their day
to day world
May 3, 2012
13. linkAges™ Signal Detection Use
Case
• Mrs James is a 75 widow living alone in a 3 bedroom house in
Mountain View, CA
• In the last year she has become unsteady in her feet and has
fallen twice. From time to time she gets a little confused and
goes out to walk to the mall about 5 miles away
• Her daughter Jill, lives in Texas and is worried that her mother
is going to come to harm and no-one will be there to help
• Conceive of a system that could alert PAMF, Jill and others
that Mrs James has fallen or is wandering the neighborhood
• Better still conceive of system that will alert that Mrs James is
at risk of falling or wandering, allowing pre-emptive action
