passes the ear bowl. Open Fit hearing aid does not have a mold
that lies over the ear bowl, instead, tubing ends in a small tip
allows a more natural sound and completely removes the
occlusion effect. It also has a smaller case and much thinner
tubing which makes it more comfortable to wear than the BTE
type.
¬ In The Ear--- This is the most common type being used
today. In The Ear hearing aid fits into the inner and outer ear and
can be used for all types of hearing disorders. Compared to
behind the ear hearing aid type, in the ear hearing aid has a
more stable fit and offers easier setup. In addition, this type of
device is not affected by wind noise as much as BTE. This type is
molded to fit the outer ear bowl and some versions are extremely
small and very light in weight. It also has no external wires or
tubes and is suited to mild to moderate hearing damages.
¬ In-The- Canal (ITC) and Completely In The Canal (CIC) --- In
the canal type rest inside the ear canal which provides a device
that can hardly be seen. They are not generally recommended for
persons who have severe hearing damages because of its small
size making the ability to amplify sound much lesser. ITC hearing
aid is limited only for those persons with adequate size ear
canals.
¬ Invisible In the Canal Hearing Aids (IIC) --- This type is fitted

wearers. Adjustment of IIC is usually wireless and some users
utilize their cellular phones in making adjustments to memory or
volume. Occlusion effect is reduced and allows a more natural
