  4. 4. Visual literacy …the “ability to understand, interpret and evaluate visual messages” (Bristor & Drake, 1994. As quoted in Baker 2012)
  5. 5. In order to become literate in visual language students need to develop visual thinking skills.
  6. 6. How can we foster visual thinking skills?
  7. 7. Step 1: Observation – People- Objects - Activities Basic Photo Analysis Steps Step 2: Inference –What can you infer? What makes you say that? Step 3: Questions - What does this image bring to you mind? What does it remind you of? Visible Thinking Routines
