1. Descriptive Essay About My Neighborhood
In between the busy streets of 35th avenue and 43rd lies my silent and kind neighborhood. Where
everyone is nice to each other and not lousy or mean. About two months ago, my mother bought
our first home. My house looks like a duplex because there are two entrances, one on the left and
right and it also has two drive ways. Turning into my neighborhood you right away see that it is a
dead end street, and has very few houses one each side of the road. There is not really anything that
grabs one's attention where I live, except a 2017 mustang that is parked next door, or how many stray
cats there live here.. Other than that a true attention catcher is our neighbors well kept yard. They
have bushes along the driveway shaped into a beautiful square. And colorful flowers in their neat
front yard. Their grass is also much greener than anyone else's. You can tell they care about their
yard a lot because they have a landscaper come every week. There are also two schools that are
across the street, a charter high school that is to the left of an elementary school. What I do like
about my neighborhood is that the streets are very wide, wider than usual which gives everyone an
advantage. It was so convenient that we lived right across the street from an elementary school. I
thought to myself "I have younger siblings that could go there!" But they really couldn't – the school
is only from 1st–5th grade and my sisters were just in 6th and 7th grade. In the mornings are usually

2. My Neighborhood-Personal Narrative Essay
My Neighborhood–Personal Narrative I would wake up Saturday morning to birds chirping. I
would get up, get dressed and go outside. The children in my neighborhood would come to my
backyard, and we would play 'til our parents called us in. I remember the trees being huge, and the
days so long. I didn't really know many of my neighbors. I had a handful of friends who lived in
the same building, and that was it. The neighborhood itself was pretty bad. Sometimes I would wake
in the middle of the night to the sound of gunshots. After living around Central Park and Armitage
for a while I kind of expected the gunshots. In fact, my mother and I survived a drive by shooting. I

Most kids just imitate the stupid antics they saw older kids perform. I have always been just me.
I used to think I had a horrible life. I was poor, and didn't have many physical belongings. It didn't
help that my mother was nineteen. At that age she was ignorant of the things children need when
growing up. Now that I look back, I understand it wasn't her fault; she is a product of her
neighborhood. And, like so many others, she did not know about the affection children so
deserve. Anyways, I wasn't too aware of my poverty. Nothing around me could possibly tell me I
was poor. In fact I can only recall one time I went hungry. The boys and girls around me definitely
did not dress any different than I, and at such an early age one doesn't really notice such things. I
only saw the inside of two of my neighbors' houses. The fist was a polish home. The father worked
all the time, the mother cooked all the time, and the daughter played all the time. The girl was
named Kathy. She was a pervert. In fact, she taught me all about sex. My female cousin, Yaritza,
and I would go to her house and play. I think my cousin was also a pervert, although I did not pay
much attention to her to notice. I remember on several occasions, Kathy would sit in such a way to
give other people a nice view up her skirt. Her mother would not allow her to wear pants. I, being
the devilish little boy that I was, always took advantage of the opportunity and looked. It

This Neighbourhood Study aims to examine the demographics of Hillingdon Primary Care Trust
(HPCT) such as age, gender, ethnicity, social groups in relation to the prevention of obesity. An
insight into the prevalence of obesity as well as the causes and its effects shall be evaluated. Public
health strategies regarding the prevention of obesity and its effects in comparison to Government
strategies shall be addressed. The nurse's role as an educator in relation to this public health issue,
strategies formulated by HPCT to prevent obesity and how it focuses on other diseases associated
with obesity shall be discussed. The following section gives a definition of obesity, health education

The Hillingdon Profile (2008) put forward that out of 149 local authorities in England, Hillingdon
is classified as the 58th most deprived in terms of income deprivation affecting children. Hillingdon
is also one of the least diverse in terms of ethnicity (appendices 1–3). In 2008 the number of obese
cases recorded by HPCT amongst adolescents was 6.9%. In comparison with England it was
estimated that 14% of boys and 17% of girls aged between 2 and 15 were obese. The National
Institute of Clinical Health and Excellence (2006) propound that Asian children are four times more
likely to be obese than children of other ethnic groups. In Central Hillingdon Asians and Afro
Caribbeans make up most of the population and have a higher percentage of obesity.
Causes of obesity include lifestyle choices such as diets, lack of physical activity, psychological,
environmental, genetics, medical conditions, effects of medication, lack of awareness and its
implications as well as lack of education in the community. According to Sethi & Vidal–Puig (2007)

4. The Problems Of Noisy Neighbors
Noisy Neighbors
Noisy neighbors tend to disturb the whole neighborhood, which has become a major problem.
Imagine waking up in the middle of the night because of neighbors' disturbances. People in the
neighborhood depend on their neighbors to keep the noise level down, yet too many noises are being
made. Neighbors can use methods such as approaching the neighbor, warning them, documenting the
noise, meeting with them, writing a letter, communicating, and having a peace offering. Also the
whole neighborhood can create a Neighborhood Noise Program, which helps stop unnecessary
noise in the neighborhood. To determine what level of noise makes it through the walls is hard. For
instance a few months ago, I arrived home to find we had new neighbors. Later that night I realized
that the neighbors were very noisy. I am not the only person who noticed, the whole neighborhood
did also.
The environment, people live in determines what type of neighbors they will get. Although people
wish for good quiet neighbors, they sometimes get the opposite. Neighbors who are noisy can impact
the whole neighborhood. These neighbors are threatening because of their loud music, thumping bass
from music, crazy parties, barking dogs, or even crying babies. When disturbances of disruptive
noises occur regularly then this can have an enormous impact on the environment and daily life of
people. Not only can neighbors be affected, but the rest of the community can also. The problem is
that the rest of the

Where I live is one of the greatest neighborhoods in the city to live in; however it does have its draw
backs. Importantly it has nearly everything a resident might want, beautiful picturesque scenery,
proximity to shopping, and many of the cultural centers. Nevertheless the roads can be some of the
most congested in town, and the streets are not safe to walk late at night. Fortunately, I wake every
morning to the most beautiful sun lit house. I sit on my porch sipping coffee, while I drink in an
atmosphere that steals my breath away. Rolling hills lay before me that undulate until they crash into
golden purple mountains. Oh how they are covered in spectacular fauna, ever blooming foliage, and

by far is the towering ruins of the old sugar plantation. The words ruins, sugar, and plantation alone
are enough to conjure up the most fascinating stories within ones imagination. I can see the bones
of an age past; still standing before me to mourn, and dream about. I live in a grouping of villas
where a restaurant and pool facilities are being constructed. I smell fresh sawn mahogany as the
carpenters make bars, counters, and doors. I hear stone masons chipping at tiles, and the scraping
sounds as they pull out the mortar to lay them. Sometimes in the morning I pull on running
sneakers and jog down to Kmart to grab some household items. Then I might bop over to AT&T to
pay my cell phone escaping the crowds and long lines that form later in the day. The bank tellers
are also so much nicer in the morning before rude customers have agitated and frustrated them. On
Sundays my family and I take in concerts and shows for free. We sit on the lawn that adorns the hill
behind our house which overlooks the Center for Performing Arts. Whether it's paying bills,
shopping for pleasure, or enjoying a cultural affair the convenience of it all is another reason I love
my neighborhood. Never the less our royal neighborhood does have some less desirable elements.

caught fish, frogs, and even crayfish to keep as pets! When explorers ended and we got to wet to
continue it was to tiring also so we let go of all of our pets right where we got them from and
started playing something else. Once in awhile I can get my friend katelyn to come over and
play with us. We would play tag and I would always be it. Eventually, the sun set and we would
always have to say goodnight to katelyn when she had to get home and eat supper. But olivia and
my day was not over yet we start making plans for what we're gonna do later that night. We said "
That's good now let's go eat and get energy for tonight meet here at 8:30 no later." We left our spot
at the playset and went back to our homes and ate, ready for tonight. When 8:30 struck I would go
outside to olivia's playset and wait for her to show up.

8. Neighborhood Watch Essay
Introduction
Crime happens in every neighborhood, whether it is an upscale community or a rundown slum. It is
a beautiful idea to think that if a community comes together and neighbors watch each other's back,
then we can eliminate crime completely. However, we all know that as wonderful as that would be,
it is simply unrealistic. On the other hand, it is possible to reduce the number of crimes to the
minimum if the community come together and work with each other. Therefore, it is important to
have a research on how effective a neighborhood watch program really is after its implementation.

With this opportunity reduction approach, will help the community become a much safer place with
less crimes. The second most important part of the situational crime prevention is that it concentrates
on the personality of the criminal. Opportunity reduction method reflects on the standard of the
logical criminal. Most times, offender's decisions are surrounded by their evaluation of the benefits
attached to the crimes committed (Business Watch International, 2010). This implementation of this
design will help answer and find solutions to current crime trends within our neighborhood.
Opportunity theories argue that the most effective way to lessen wrongdoings is to restructure
community and secluded neighborhoods in ways that removes opportunity for crimes to take place
(Business Watch International, 2010).
Another theory that helps support opportunity theories would be a relation to the "Broken Windows
Theory." Another way that we can measure the success of the current neighborhood watch program
is to evaluate surveillance, in order to capture possible crime in action (Business Watch International,
2010).
Theories
The rational choice theory has many similarities from the classical criminology theory. The rational
choice theory states that in order for a person to commit a crime the offender must be conscious and
if the choice that the offender chooses determines if the value is worth risking the punishment of

10. Essay about Dealing with Neighbors
Home is a place that most people consider their haven, where they can relax after a hard days work,
enjoy being with family, and spend the weekends and summers outside. At the same time, being part
of the neighborhood and getting to know the people who live around you can also make a
neighborhood enjoyable. However, when there are certain neighbors who insist on making life
difficult, learning to deal with these rude neighbors can make the situation a little easier to bear.
Neighbors often borrow things from each other, which can be anything from a grocery item to

This can really be a problem and cause hard feelings. Therefore, bringing it to their attention and
asking them to refrain from letting their animal roam free is usually the proper thing to do. Asking
them to clean up their pet's mess and thanking them in advance is another way of getting the
message across.
Noise is sometimes an issue with neighbors who live next door, especially when it occurs in the
wee hours of the night. Loud music that can be heard all the way across the street or even outside
of the home is very disrespectful, especially when everyone is trying to sleep. The only choice is
to get dressed, knock on the neighbor's door, and explain to them that the noise is so loud that it is
keeping you and your family awake. Even if you wait until the next morning, it is still important to
relay the message in a courtly fashion.
Many neighbors will perhaps have parties from time to time, yard sales or even other family
members who may visit. However, it is up to the neighbor to make sure your property is not used
for a parking lot, or that your car, driveway or mailbox is not blocked. While asking in advance as
a favor is one thing, taking it for granted that it is "okay", and having it happen often, is being rude.
At the same time, being aggressive, demanding and causing a scene could perhaps be the beginning
of a feud. Instead, phoning the

My neighborhood has been many places in the short 15 years of my life. Many consider their
neighborhood to include where they went to school, but no matter where my house happened to
be, I went to school in Alameda. My three person family consisting of myself, my mother and my
aunt, are closer to poor than rich, so while we could never afford to live on the little island, some of
my other family members could so I used their address and attended their schools. I went to school,
made friends, and found a community in Alameda, but my neighborhood is in Oakland and as such,
my community is there too. The two have little in common as the: people, atmosphere, and
average income couldn't be more different. Consequently it is for the same reasons that I am
treated differently in the two places that I call home. Every neighborhood and street in Oakland
could be identical, as seen looking through outside eyes. The streets are unfriendly, enveloped in
poverty, filled with people of color, and loud to an average person driving by. Looking from the
inside, however, is different because when I'm not across the Fruitvale Bridge in school, I'm here,
experiencing the livelihood and culture of my town, my default neighborhood. I'm biracial, though

Neighborhood features to check out if you are starting a family.
Buying a house in a beautiful neighbourhood can be a great thing, with well–manicured lawns and

some other factors before settling for a particular area. Children come with many challenges, and the
environment makes a significant impact on the type of adults they will become in later years. You

Sidewalks are an important feature in a neighbourhood if you are raising kids. The sidewalk can

Parks or playgrounds
Parks and playgrounds serve as the melting pot of the neighbourhood, and many families socialise

gained confidence within myself because I do not feel awkward in social situations. Furthermore,
my neighborhood has shaped me into a charismatic person; it is helpful when encountering social

Aside from the personal lessons, I have been influenced to be festive. During most celebrated
holiday such as: Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas, my neighborhood embraces their
excitement with beautiful decorations. According to the article Social Cohesiveness, Territoriality,
and Holiday Decorations by Barbara Brown and Carol Werner, observations on holiday decorations

stronger. In a sense, it makes me believe my neighbors unite to beautify our neighborhood streets
while sharing common traditions, such as a Christmas tree or the birth of Jesus arrangement.
Holidays are my favorite time of the year, because I love to see the streets of my home filled with

Two Neighborhoods
The convenience of living in an urban or suburban neighborhood can be appealing to many people.
Choosing between areas can sometimes be overwhelming for some individual. People are not only
concerned about the safety of a community, but they are also concerned about the environment.
Although some neighborhoods might look attractive, people should consider the expense that comes
with it, and how commuting will affect them in the long run. Nevertheless, both neighborhoods have
their specific advantages and disadvantages. When choosing between an urban or suburban
neighborhood, it is important for people to research the community, the expense, and convenience

Another key point is commuting. People who live in the urban community have better access to
public transportation. Citizens can easily get around by walking, taking a bus, and riding the train at
a lower cost. In contrast, owning a home in suburb can be costly for many people. Not only do
people have to keep up with their mortgages, but they sometimes have to pay a yard maintenance fee
and their Home Owners Association (HOA) dues for the up–keeping of the neighborhood which can
be very costly. Besides the home cost, people who live in suburban neighborhoods do have the
convenience of traveling in the comfort of their own vehicle, and they do not deal with the concerns
of public transportation. However, they still have to deal with the cost for long commuting and the
wear and tear of the vehicle.
Living in the inner–city and suburban neighborhood can be challenging and beneficial for some
individuals, especially for career opportunity. Many people who live in the urban communities have
a better advantage in finding a job of their choice. Most corporations are located in the inner–city
which makes it easier for people to find a job. Despite the job opportunities in the inner–city, many
of these corporations do not provide parking for their employee which makes it difficult for many
individuals. On the other hand, employment in the suburb is very limited and many of the
professional jobs are

is that usually people that are poor just get enclose full of drugs, people who are criminal, and have
a bad school. You can end up either become addicted to drugs or become a criminal. In my
neighborhood there is no drugs or criminals so I am not either a criminal or do drugs. I believe if a

that you won't get beat up or something. You become one with your surroundings and people you

When I tell other students from New York City that I live in Bensonhurst, they often tell me they
have never heard of it. Often, I have never heard of the neighborhood they live in, even though we
all live in the same city. I think we all live in and interact in our respective bubbles, and besides the
periods we spend at work or school, we tend to keep ourselves exclusive to people outside of them.
There is nothing wrong with being selective with who you interact with, but those self–isolating
behaviors encourage ignorance, especially during periods of rapid change in the neighborhood.
My neighborhood is actually very aesthetically pleasing. The name of my neighborhood, Bensonhurst
, is actually shortened from "Bensonhurst–by–the–Sea," which is what a developer named the resort
neighborhood in order to sell more beachfront property. The aforementioned sea is the Atlantic
Ocean, though the sandy "bay" almost every avenue in the neighborhood has in its street name (e.g.

of its coastal–retreat past; there are benches, trees, walkways, and parks right near the ocean. There
are also playgrounds by every elementary school, and a city park or green space if there are no
elementary schools right nearby. Backyards, privately–owned plots of nature, also play an important
role in my community. Most families in my neighborhood have backyards, front yards, or both, and
