BACKGROUND

Recognizing the importance of waste management in reducing emissions of
greenhouse gases, HUMANBE initiates and implements a system of energy
water and compost production, to help the establishmentof a local management
of waste treatment.

ADVANTAGE

1. Recovery of waste by generating electricity and water
2. Creation of cheap electricity
2. Reduction of the volume of household waste treated
by the community, by a source separation
2. Avoid the use of incineration, landfilling and transportation
3. Production of natural compost
4. Awareness of sustainable development by demonstrating
the life cycle of organic matter and usefulness of the transformation of waste
THE CURRENT STATUS OF WASTE IN FRANCE

In 2007, nearly 5.68 million tonnes of household waste were collected in Ile de France,
or 492 kg per resident, per year, against 594 kg in France. The overall volume of waste in Paris
has decreased Paris at least of 3%, but our kitchen and garden wastes continue
to fill half of our trash. In 2008, the weight of household waste in Paris, was still about
360 kg per person per year... Although the quantity of household waste collected in
Ile-de-France remains broadly stable since 2002, it is not the same cost of removal and
treatment. Indeed, the tax garbage collection has increased by 47% between 2000 and 2008.

This cannot continue indefinitely to increase by 5 to 6% per year, and regions, to encourage
more efficient sorting, might want to tax, for example, the weight of waste collected, and
it will be more expensive in the highly urbanized areas.. So why not just recycle organic waste?
They can turn into compost, electricity or water..

With compost, you could reduce by 50 and 70 kg per year per person in organic waste.
Which is about 1 to 2 tons of organic waste, for 20 to 30 homes...In developing countries,
this may correspond to 20 000 tonnes per year for approximately 100 000 inhabitants..
THE COMPANY

The company we work with, is a company whose devices were invented in 1837,
and produce clean electricity with zero CO2 emissions. They are the fruit of
20 years of research and development in alkaline fuel cells. They have
developed a technology of fuel cells that meet the needs of a system called TUS
(Total Utility System), which uses all the elements to produce a
clean, reliable and cheap energy..

The project built small fuel cell units of 50 kW for powering in water and electricity,
autonomously 150 houses, simply by the use of waste produced by homes, as it has already
been done for communities like Bequia and Mayreau...

DEVELOPMENT

Our next-generation of fuel cell uses only cheap materials for performance far superior
to older models. Ready for mass production of devices, they are now available..

This project can also be replicated in many cities of developing countries,
where waste management is often problematic
(20 000 tonnes per year per 100 000 population).
THE FUEL CELL

The fuel cell is an electrochemical device that converts air and hydrogen
into electricity and water. The alkaline fuel cells (AFC) represent the only technology
at low temperature "proven", used as an energy source for all manned space
missions of the United States and Russia. This technology was invented in 1837.

We provide technology RARE MATERIAL WITHOUT AFC (without platinum),
a validated design today by almost 20 years of research.

The fuel cell system that we are currently producing, is clean,
efficient, cheap and produces no emissions of anything.
L'HYDROGÈNE

Fuel cells produce efficiently and cleanly, electricity and water,
through a combination of electrochemical reaction of hydrogen
and oxygen in the air. Hydrogen is the most common chemical
element on earth, contained in many sources of natural gas from
organic waste. It is easy to produce and is a reservoir recognized
today as a credible alternative to the foreseeable shortage of hydrocarbons.

Hydrogen can be produced from any organic material from either
household waste, agricultural, sewage or algae. Nothing is more simple..
To extract hydrogen, we must transform organic waste into gas, by heating,
without burning, in a gasifier. This is the cheapest fuel known to man, because
like all wastes, you must pay to be rid..
Fuel cells produce electricity and hydrogen with oxygen found in air.

The result of this
the process is water
(H20)
coming out of the system
around 90°C.
This water can be
used for the
heating, and being very
pure, it can be
sold for the purpose
of pharmaceutical or
agri-food industry,
per example
DESTINATIONS FOR WHAT?

- Buildings (condominiums, tenants of social or private landlords...)
- Public Municipal (schools, leisure centers...)
- Institutions (government or military buildings....)
- Residences, communities...
- Places isolated, islands, cruise ships..

MATERIALS

Unit/Stack or fuel cell power = 50kW for about 30 houses
or a large farm.
To produce hydrogen fuel, it takes about
one ton of organic waste or plants per day.
Approximate price : 1500 euros per KW
300 to 500 00 euros for 1.5 to 2KW

HOW IT WORKS ?

Simply by gasifying the organic wastes and plant, for converting it into gas and then extract
hydrogen from these gases. The gases are separated in a reformer that uses water (H2O)
to transform carbon into CO2 and exit the hydrogen used for the fuel cells.
