Questionnaire
Q1. The first question on my questionnaire was asking for the gender of the
person filling in the questionnaire.
Males- 7
Female-1
This might lead to inaccurate results because 7 males answered this whilst only
1 female took part in answering my questions.
Q2. The next question up was the ages of the people who were willing in the
questionnaire
7 people were aged between 16-17
1 aged 18+
This was very helpful as it also gave me an idea on what my target audience will
be the age ranges for my target audience which is 12-21. This is a very good age
range, as I am myself within this age bracket and I can also relate to people of
this age bracket because of my age being in this bracket.
Q3. The third question on my questionnaire was ‘Do you like rap magazines?’
7 people did not like rap magazines while only 1 person liked them. This showed
me how rap was not a favourable genre in the class room, and many people in
the class room were not really a fan of rap music in general. So what I have
decided to do is make a rap magazine but also include features of other sorts of
music conventions in my magazine so it appeals to everyone and not just people
into rap.
Q4. Some of the answers told me that not many people are interested in rap
magazines, and the ones which were interested in rap magazines wanted to
know about artists. This also helped me about what should be in my magazine, as
I should include an in-depth article about the main artist of my magazine
Q5. Out of all the people who were asked none of them read any sort of rap
magazines, and preferred to read other sort of music magazines. This did not put
me off creating my own rap magazines, but it gave me the intention to bring in
more people into the rap genre.
Q6. The majority of people would expect to pay between £1-£2 to purchase a
magazine, so my magazine will also be around this price range as it is a suitable
price.

Q7. 3 of the people had rock music as their favourite genre to what they listened
to, while a few others said pop and some said other which could also refer to
Indie.
Q8. Nearly all the people who answered the questions listened to rap music at
some point, this showed that even though rap was not the most favourable type
of genre people were still willing to listen to it and give it a go.
Q9. Everyone said that they hardly buy magazines showing that not many
people are attracted to purchasing magazines in the first place. Showing the
decline in magazine being purchased.
Q10. More than half of the people who had answered this question agreed that
having a famous person on the front cover of the magazine would attract them to
buy a magazine.
Q11. Question 11 was asking people what favourite type of magazines they had, a
few answers were received back with Indie coming up, however some of the
people answering the questionnaire had no favourite music magazine.
Q12. Question 12 was asking all about the occupation of the person who was
answering the questionnaire, since it was done by all fellow class mates and my
teacher. Everyone involved was in education which was their occupation.
Q13+14. Both these questions are centred on asking if people would be more
interested in purchasing a magazine if there was free content with it and also
what interests them to buy a magazine. What I found was that everyone who
answered my questionnaire was interested in purchasing magazines with free
content they would be more likely to purchase. What also interested them in
purchasing a magazine was a famous figure appearing on the front cover of a
magazine.
Q15. The final question on my questionnaire was ‘Do you listen to music whilst
exercising?’ The majority of people who answered my questionnaire did listen to
music whilst exercising, this showed that music is very popular and can be
listened to in many different situations.

Questionnaire results on music magazine preferences

  • 1. Questionnaire Q1. The first question on my questionnaire was asking for the gender of the person filling in the questionnaire. Males- 7 Female-1 This might lead to inaccurate results because 7 males answered this whilst only 1 female took part in answering my questions. Q2. The next question up was the ages of the people who were willing in the questionnaire 7 people were aged between 16-17 1 aged 18+ This was very helpful as it also gave me an idea on what my target audience will be the age ranges for my target audience which is 12-21. This is a very good age range, as I am myself within this age bracket and I can also relate to people of this age bracket because of my age being in this bracket. Q3. The third question on my questionnaire was ‘Do you like rap magazines?’ 7 people did not like rap magazines while only 1 person liked them. This showed me how rap was not a favourable genre in the class room, and many people in the class room were not really a fan of rap music in general. So what I have decided to do is make a rap magazine but also include features of other sorts of music conventions in my magazine so it appeals to everyone and not just people into rap. Q4. Some of the answers told me that not many people are interested in rap magazines, and the ones which were interested in rap magazines wanted to know about artists. This also helped me about what should be in my magazine, as I should include an in-depth article about the main artist of my magazine Q5. Out of all the people who were asked none of them read any sort of rap magazines, and preferred to read other sort of music magazines. This did not put me off creating my own rap magazines, but it gave me the intention to bring in more people into the rap genre. Q6. The majority of people would expect to pay between £1-£2 to purchase a magazine, so my magazine will also be around this price range as it is a suitable price. 0 5 10 What Gender are you? male female
  • 2. Q7. 3 of the people had rock music as their favourite genre to what they listened to, while a few others said pop and some said other which could also refer to Indie. Q8. Nearly all the people who answered the questions listened to rap music at some point, this showed that even though rap was not the most favourable type of genre people were still willing to listen to it and give it a go. Q9. Everyone said that they hardly buy magazines showing that not many people are attracted to purchasing magazines in the first place. Showing the decline in magazine being purchased. Q10. More than half of the people who had answered this question agreed that having a famous person on the front cover of the magazine would attract them to buy a magazine. Q11. Question 11 was asking people what favourite type of magazines they had, a few answers were received back with Indie coming up, however some of the people answering the questionnaire had no favourite music magazine. Q12. Question 12 was asking all about the occupation of the person who was answering the questionnaire, since it was done by all fellow class mates and my teacher. Everyone involved was in education which was their occupation. Q13+14. Both these questions are centred on asking if people would be more interested in purchasing a magazine if there was free content with it and also what interests them to buy a magazine. What I found was that everyone who answered my questionnaire was interested in purchasing magazines with free content they would be more likely to purchase. What also interested them in purchasing a magazine was a famous figure appearing on the front cover of a magazine. Q15. The final question on my questionnaire was ‘Do you listen to music whilst exercising?’ The majority of people who answered my questionnaire did listen to music whilst exercising, this showed that music is very popular and can be listened to in many different situations.
