This document discusses plant tropisms, specifically phototropism and gravitropism. It defines these terms and describes an experiment where bean seeds were planted both horizontally and vertically in clear cups to test if the roots would grow down (gravitropism) and the stems would grow towards light (phototropism), which supported the hypothesis. Photos from the 2-week experiment showed the bean seeds swelling after 4 days and the plants germinating and receiving nutrients from sunlight as predicted.
