In recent times and as far as technological advancement goes, the Internet of Things is the trending topic in the world. Internet of Things popularly called IoT is the internetworking of interconnected devices over the internet to enable interaction between those devices without any human interference. Cisco predicts at least 50 billion of such devices to be available by the year 2020. This leaves a huge gap as to the appropriate awareness and literacy of the world as a collective to be receptive of the massive IoT technology overhaul coming in the nearest future. This paper gives a little insight into the basics of IoT, its core fundamentals, its architecture and furthermore contributes to knowledge the application of IoT to the education sector. Considering the number of connected devices expected to be produced, it is expected also that sufficient amount of personnel are trained in IoT systems adequately to meet with the rising demand
