 THIS WAS RECENTLY PASSED AS AN ORDINANCE BY
THE UNION CABINATE.
 THIS BILL AIMS TO PROVIDE 5KG OF FOOD GRAINS
PER PERSON PER MONTH AT SUBSIDISED PRICE
FROM THE STATE GOVERNMENT.
 THE ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS WILL BE ENTITLED TO
FOOD GRAINS AT A SUBSIDISED PRICE NOT EXCEEDING Rs. 3 PER KG FOR RICE, Rs. 2 KG FOR WHEAT
& Rs. 1 PER KG FOR COARSE GRAIN.

SECURITY BILL IN LINE WITH NAC’S RECOMMENDATION.
21-12-11 : THE UNION CABINET OF INDIA APPROVED
NATIONAL FOOD SECURITY BILL.
21-3-13 :- UNION CABINET CLEARED NATIONAL FOOD
SECURITY BILL.
9-5-13:- AMENDMENTS IN THE NATIONAL FOOD
SECURITY BILL INTRODUCED IN LOK SABHA.
4-7-13 :- ORDINANCE TO IMPLEMENT FOOD BILL
APPROVED BY UNION CABINET.

5-7-13:- PRANAB MUKHERJEE SIGNED ON THE
ORDINANCE.
11-8-13: BILL INTRODUCED IN LOK SABHA.
25-8-13: GOVERNMENT OF INDIA ANNOUNCED THAT

SECURITY BILL THROUGH VOICE VOTE.

 PROPER PDS CENTERS.
 SUPPLY THROUGH ADHAR CARDS.
 MAHILA SWAYAM SEVAK SANGH & GRAMPANCHAYATS TO RUN THE PDS CENTERS.
 THROUGH THIS BILL ICDS & MID-DAY MEAL
PROGRAMME WILL GET BENEFITED.
 STATE GOVERNMENTS SHOULD WORK PROPERLY
TO MAKE THIS PROGRAMME BENEFITED.
IMPORTANT FACTS
 IT WILL COST 1.3 LAKH CRORE PER YEAR & THIS
BILL WILL EXPIRE AFTER 3 YEARS.
ABOUT 10 CRORE SCHOOL CHILDREN FROM 12
LAKH SCHOOLS WILL GET BENEFITED FROM THIS
BILL.
 THERE ARE AROUND 14L ANGANWADI KENDRAS
IN OUR COUNTRY & FROM THESE KENDRAS 9 CR
CHILDREN, PREGNANT WOMEN & MILK FEEDING
WOMEN WILL GET BENEFITED.
CONCLUSION
 IN THIS FOOD SECURITY BILL, THERE ARE SO MANY
BENEFICIARY COMPONENTS , WHICH HELP THE
LOWER CLASS PEOPLE OF OUR COUNTRY. SO THAT
NO BODY WILL DIE CAUSING STARVATION &
FAMINE.

FOOD SECURITY BILL - 2013  THIS WAS RECENTLY PASSED AS AN ORDINANCE BY THE UNION CABINATE.  THIS BILL AIMS TO PROVIDE 5KG OF FOOD GRAINS PER PERSON PER MONTH AT SUBSIDISED PRICE FROM THE STATE GOVERNMENT.  THE ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS WILL BE ENTITLED TO FOOD GRAINS AT A SUBSIDISED PRICE NOT EXCEEDING Rs. 3 PER KG FOR RICE, Rs. 2 KG FOR WHEAT & Rs. 1 PER KG FOR COARSE GRAIN.
