Ian Renner of Cape Town moved to Los Angeles at age thirty to start over in life. After years of slaving away at an office job he hated in South Africa, Renner moved to Los Angeles to get a job in the film industry. He arrived with no experience whatsoever in film, but worked hard as an unpaid intern for a set design company and ended up starting his own freelancing set design business in Hollywood.
