This document describes a system called Celebrity Watch that automatically generates a website presenting up-to-date entertainment news and focuses on celebrities. It monitors news websites, extracts references to named entities, merges references to the same entity, detects trending celebrities, and builds a social network based on entity co-occurrences from over 15 million articles collected from 340 news outlets over 3 years.
