THE PARK DEVELOPMENT Area Schedule

Building Information Modelling (BIM) | The Park, Abu Dhabi | Report 2010.09.12
The Park Development is a premium mixed - use project with three main
                                    components:
                                    • 5 Star Hotel
                                    • Corporate Offices
                                    • High-end Retail spaces

      1:500 SCALE at A3

The Design Scheme provides 250 keys for a courtyard by Marriott Hotel, health club, retail and ground level and
circa 21,000 sqm. of high end commercial office space over ten levels.

                               THE PARK DEVELOPMENT GROUND PLAN

Building Information Modelling (BIM) | The Park, Abu Dhabi | Report 2010.09.12
One half hotel and one half office, different in nature, function and aesthetics
                                    but harmonious as one unit.

      1:500 SCALE at A3

The OFFICE, functional and pragmatic, is subdued in its rectilinear form and responds to neighboring Khalifa Park
with the reflection of the trees in the elevation.

The HOTEL, imaginative and symbolic, uses a combination of traditional Islamic geometric patterns and undulating
forms of sand dunes as the inspiration for its textured, irregularly-geometric form.

                                     THE PARK DEVELOPMENT FIRST FLOOR

Building Information Modelling (BIM) | The Park, Abu Dhabi | Report 2010.09.12
Challenged to create a unique proposal that maximizes the sites potential
and respond to its location between two roads, the building has been
designed as an object - a strong form in its own right, rather than a piece of
urban infill that has hidden elevations.

                       THE PARK DEVELOPMENT THIRD FLOOR

Building Information Modelling (BIM) | The Park, Abu Dhabi | Report 2010.09.12
The perception of the building from all angles will therefore become
important along with the changing views one will see from passing cars and
act as a way finder or landmark for people going in and out of the City.

The development of the design
                       concepts have evolved through
                       close consideration of the
                       environmental performance criteria
which are essential to the ongoing
                       sustainability of the building and
                       landscape.

‘LATTICE’ FAMILY
Hotel elevation is completed with lattices. Each lattice is an instance of the ‘Lattice’ family with in the Revit file.
This family is a ‘Plane based’ family and was developed using the Plane based Generic model Revit template. The
parameters of this family are based upon triangular section and the variables are the height and the width of the
Triangular section at each end. The length of the member is also set as a parameter of the family. Please note that
since all the parameters of this family are Instance Parameters the variables are available on the Instances.
