Editor's Notes
Austin Resource Recovery provides weekly curbside trash collection to single-family homes, duplexes and triplexes in Austin.
“Pay as you throw” means that service costs are based on your trash cart size and reflect a per-gallon approach.
We offer four trash cart sizes; choose the size that best fits your household’s needs.
You can save money on your utility bill by recycling as much as possible, setting aside yard trimmings for composting collection, and choosing a smaller trash cart.
We ask that you bag your trash items before placing them in your brown trash cart.
Extra bags of trash that do not fit in your trash cart with the lid closed must be placed next to the trash cart and tagged with an Extra Trash Sticker, which can be purchased at most local grocery stores ($4 + tax). Extra bags without a sticker will be charged a per-bag fee of $8 + tax.
Austin Resource Recovery provides curbside recycling collection biweekly for single-family homes up to fourplexes.
Recycling is collected every other week depending on your location.
ARR’s recycling program is single stream which means your place the following materials directly in your blue cart:
Paper
plastic
metal
Glass
Recycling is important because:
Reduce utility bill
Save natural resources
Save energy
Reduce greenhouse gases
Reduce dependence upon landfills
