to keep up to date in
this job role, you will
need to learn new and

and programmes to
keep up to date. You
will also need to be
willing to adapt to up-
dating products, even
if that means
“unlearning” what you
knew before. Also an
understanding of
CSS, Javascript,
HTML5 ,MySQL,
PHP/ Apache,
JQuery, and XML
wouldn’t be a miss!
General soft skills
will be handy, not
only for this job role
but for any other
too. These skills
include, Planning,
punctuality, team
working, literacy,
numeracy and
problem solving.

Creativity If you want to *create* a website, you must be *creative*.
Problem solving When coding you will find yourself banging your head against a wall wondering why something isn’t
working, problem solving skills is a must!
Literacy Why make a website if no one can understand its content?
Numeracy Numeracy skills are very important in this line of work, there is lots of numerical data involved in web
development, so you better start revising!
