  9. “Artificial intelligence is the new electricity“ - Andrew Ng
  10. AI vs. ML Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the science of making computers do things that require intelligence when done by humans. Machine learning (ML) is a field of computer science that gives computers the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed
  11. Reinforcement learning Supervised MLUnsupervised ML
  12. STRATEGIC DATA ACQUISITION Data Product Users
  13. WHEN TO USE AI? Time intensive Short duration Manual Algorithmic 1 Year 1 Month 1 Week 1 Hour 1 Minute 1 Second Automated Stop fraudulent transaction Adjust production process Operational Make a cross-sell offer Aprove a credit Single Decision Make a specific hire Define price for product Tactical Define pricing policies Define underwriting policies Strategic Create a new product line Acquire a new company Supported by insights from analytics Achieved through operationalization of prescriptive models
  14. Blockchain A blockchain is a continuously growing list of records, called blocks, which are linked and secured using cryptography.[ Each block typically contains a hash pointer as a link to a previous block,[6] a timestamp and transaction data.[7]
  15. Centralized Decentralized Distributed
  16. Google, Apple, Sonos (using Amazon) & Amazon are fighting over who will win the battle of the omnipresent microphone. The price is becoming the gateway for all “web” searches, purchases and the control panel for the giant home/transport/service-automation market ”VOICE FIRST”
  17. • Using Microsoft Bot Framework or Amazon Lex we can all build voice first bots for Alexa, Google and Skype (Siri is more or less still closed). • Many European startups in the area such as Alpha Blues in Estonia. • Simple to get going - really hard to build the fulfillment logic. • Operator.com is trying (started by ex-Uber people).

  19. MOBILE TECH • Technology is still changing very fast - and the users behaviour with it. • Android, iOS and mobile web is still rapidly evolving. • APIs will bind it all together but much be fast to cope with user expectations.
  20. UI AND SERVICES • Services needs to be designed API first • The change of user interfaces can come rapidly (apps as a UI went from nothing to dominant in just a few years) • Voice first and chat style UIs are still complimentary - but important • Amazon (and Wish) already shown that brands don’t matter over availability and crowd-based rankings
  21. EVERYDAY AUTOMATION
  22. EVERYDAY AUTOMATION • RPA is becoming of age and many vendors are adding both decision making components and some first AI components. • Using software robots “normal” users can automate tedious processes without a developer. • At the same time the API to API bridges are growing - but still lack AI components. We expect this to change during 2018. • We should expect this kind of technologies to continue to grow and that automation will be a nice way to glue together different SaaS platforms together.
  23. … BUT DATA IS VERY IMPORTANT • We expect more companies to have the need to trade data as a bi-product • Buy and sell data to validate / correlate your own data in real time • GDPR make it hard to trade personal data - but other data is still valuable

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME If this is the first time you have seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, take a coffee or follow these steps: Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask any of your IT guys for any crappy Windows updates you might need. If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or call Bill Gates. Please do not photograph or tweet this blue screen of death. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode. 26. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE CLOUD • Platforms as a service: re-use existing components to jump-start development. Don’t develop fundamental platforms yourself. • Containerisation and server-less architectures: Don’t host operating systems yourself and forget about building monoliths. • Intelligent components (machine learning models as part of the data flow)

  43. SYNCHRONICITY You need to go from saving Transactions to saving Intents and Transactions for each user in near real-time

  45. DATA REQUIRES APIS Your backend is more important than ever. Without good APIs there is no way to build for the mobile behaviour.

  48. T H E S T A T E O F M O B I L E Technology is still changing very fast - and the users’ behaviour with it. Plan for a much much more data intensive future. UIs will be plentiful: Watches, Voice-first, Apps, web & app-in-apps. APIs will bind it all together but much be fast to cope with user expectations. It’s both harder and easier than ever to launch a digital service. Disrupt or don’t launch.
  49. H O W T O K E E P U P W I T H T E C H Mobile technology is still moving very fast. Too fast for most teams to cope with. Apple & Google are pushing smart watches, new payment models, new web standards, AR & AI. • Focus on technology that makes life easier for your user. • You shouldn’t do everything. Uber will not benefit from AR. • Use our mobile focus chart to think around what’s next for your organization.
