Alliant Energy (USA) announces six new solar projects in Wisconsin
Alliant Energy announces plans to acquire and advance 675 megawatts of
solar in mostly rural areas in six Wisconsin counties: Grant, Jefferson,
Richland, Rock, Sheboygan and Wood. The projects are the next step in the
company's Clean Energy Blueprint, a strategic roadmap to cost-effectively
accelerate renewable energy while reducing carbon emissions. Once
operational, the energy from the projects will be enough to power 175,000
homes per year making Alliant Energy the largest owner-operator of solar in
Wisconsin. Collectively, these projects are expected to create more than 1,200
local construction jobs, and, once operational, will provide an estimated $80
million in local tax revenues over the next 30 years. The transition to solar
energy is driven by changing economics for generation, customer
sustainability goals, improvements in renewable technology and the
company’s commitment to sustainable practices.
Executive Commentary
“Solar energy is a smart investment for our Wisconsin customers, said
President of Alliant Energy's Wisconsin energy company. At a time when
much is changing, these projects will provide steady revenue to Wisconsin
communities, create new construction, operation and maintenance jobs,
and provide our customers with reliable and sustainable energy for years to
come. Along with the rest of the Clean Energy Blueprint, these projects
will help customers avoid more than $2 billion in long-term costs.”

AEP (USA) Receives Enough Approvals to Move Forward With 1,485-Megawatt
North Central Wind Projects
American Electric Power has received approvals to enable the company to acquire the
entire planned 1,485 megawatts of wind generation in Oklahoma. AEP will invest
approximately $2 billion in this new renewable energy to serve its Southwestern Electric
Power Company and Public Service Company of Oklahoma customers. The Louisiana
Public Service Commission today approved a settlement agreement that authorizes
SWEPCO to add 810 MW of wind energy to serve its customers. The Commission
approved an option that could increase Louisiana’s allocation to an estimated 464 MW
from the original 268 MW, if Texas does not also approve the SWEPCO proposal. The
Arkansas Public Service Commission also accepted an option to increase its allocation
when it approved the project earlier this month. The project remains under regulatory
review in Texas, and SWEPCO will continue to seek that approval to allocate some of
this renewable energy to benefit its customers in Texas. PSO received final Oklahoma
Corporation Commission approval Feb. 20, 2020, of a settlement agreement to acquire
675 MW of the project. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission also has approved
the acquisition.
Executive Commentary
“Today’s decision by the Louisiana Public Service Commission enables us to move
forward with the North Central wind projects at full scale and invest in low-cost wind
energy to benefit our customers in Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, said AEP
chairman, president and chief executive officer. As AEP continues to add new clean
energy to our generation portfolio, this investment is expected to save our customers
approximately $3 billion over the next 30 years while supporting economic
development in our communities. We will continue to seek approval to provide a
share of this renewable energy to our SWEPCO customers in Texas, as we believe
the projects offer significant benefits to customers across our SWEPCO footprint.”

Entergy (USA) Invests $200 million in Grand Gulf Nuclear Station to Keep Clean
Energy Flowing
Entergy invests $200 million in Grand Gulf Nuclear Station to Keep Clean Energy.
Operators have safely returned Grand Gulf to the grid, concluding the plant’s 22nd
scheduled refueling and maintenance outage. More than $200 million in investments
were made in the plant, focusing on equipment upgrades and other reliability
systems. In addition to the 800 employees, approximately 1,500 additional workers
were on site to support the outage, generating a significant economic boost. Nuclear
power plants must refuel every 18 to 24 months, coming offline while new fuel is
added and existing fuel is reconfigured for maximum efficiency. At the same time,
workers conduct maintenance upgrades, reliability enhancements and system
evaluations that can only be done when the unit is off the grid. During the outage,
technicians used state-of-the-art technology to upgrade plant equipment that will
keep the facility generating clean, carbon-free electricity. This year’s outage included
a significant amount of major reliability upgrades, including a complete
modernization of the plant’s 35-year-old electro-hydraulic turbine control system
with the latest technology.
Executive Commentary
“I am extremely pleased with the nuclear professionalism and teamwork of the
Grand Gulf Nuclear Station employees, those supporting from the fleet and our
dedicated contracting partners during the refueling and maintenance outage, said
Entergy chief nuclear officer. The team did a phenomenal job of safely refueling
the unit, completing important upgrades and maintenance, and returning it to
service under extraordinary circumstances of the global pandemic. Our key
stakeholders depend on us to keep the clean electricity flowing, and Grand Gulf
is a critical part of this country’s infrastructure.”

Iberdrola (Spain) assigns a new contract to Ingeteam and moves forward
with its plan to invest in renewable across Spain
Iberdrola is making progress in its plan to invest in renewable in Spain, working hand in hand with local suppliers. This morning, Iberdrola
announced that it has allocated another contract worth €18.6 million to Ingeteam. The Basque Company will provide the investors for the
Francisco Pizarro plant that Iberdrola is set to develop in Extremadura. With the Núnez de Balboa plant already up and running, this new facility
will become the largest photovoltaic project in Europe, producing 590 MW of power thanks to an investment of over €300 million. This new
contract adds to a string of others signed with Ingeteam over the past few months. Its task is to provide the investor solution needed to construct
a total of 800 MW in Spain and Mexico, including six projects that Iberdrola will be building in Andalusia and Aragón and developing in
Extremadura. This means providing the components required to turn the direct current obtained from solar panels into alternate current and
subsequently raise it from low to medium voltage for consumption. Iberdrola has been operating wind farms in the Basque Country for years now,
as well as taking part in the Ekian photovoltaic project and engaging in a joint venture with the EVE to foster the regions renewable with

Iberdrola (Spain) promotes green recovery with the launch of CAVAR, the first
large wind complex in Spain after the health emergency
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
11
Solution Description
Iberdrola has launched the CAVAR wind complex in Navarra, the first major facility of its kind in Spain after the health crisis. With its 111
megawatts of installed power, it is also the largest wind power plant started up by the company in the country since 2012. In this way, and
coinciding with World Environment Day, Iberdrola continues to make progress towards a recovery green. In this sense, the construction of the
CAVAR complex, which has been completed in 12 months, has involved purchases of more than 80 million Euros from suppliers, many of them
from nearby municipalities and regions, and created hundreds of jobs. Almost all of the civil works and the components of the wind turbines
(towers, blades, nacelles, generators and gearboxes) have been manufactured in Navarra, Asturias, Cantabria, Soria and Burgos. The CAVAR wind
complex, jointly promoted with Caja Rural de Navarra, is made up of four parks and 32 SG 3.4-132 generators, located in the Navarre
municipalities of Cadreita and Valtierra. Its construction and commissioning has required an investment of more than 100 million Euros, for which
it has had green financing from the European Investment Bank. This new facility will produce clean energy equivalent to the average annual
consumption of 45,000 households - 25% of the population of Pamplona - and thus avoid the emission of 84,000 tons of CO 2 into the atmosphere
per year.

Uniper (Germany) solution with large-scale batteries helps to control the frequency
deviations in systems with large amounts of renewable energies
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
13
Solution Description
Uniper solution with large-scale batteries helps to control the frequency deviations in systems with large amounts of renewable energies. The
increasing share of renewable energies is presenting grid operators worldwide with growing challenges to maintain the balance in the electricity
grid. Frequency deviations in the grid can lead to poorer power quality and, in the worst case, to a power outage. Uniper is launching an innovative
battery solution that meets the growing need for fast frequency control and thus grid stability. The first implementation of this battery technology
will take place in two of Uniper's hydroelectric power plants in northern Sweden: Edsele with a capacity of six megawatts and Lövön with a
capacity of nine megawatts. The power plants were selected because Swedish grid operator Svenska Kraftnät recently opened up the capacity
market for a new product called “fast frequency reserve”. The combination of hydroelectric power and batteries of the Uniper solution is as fast as
it is efficient: While the hydroelectric power acts as energy storage, the batteries ensure a quick response to frequency deviations. At the same time,
the storage capacity of the batteries can be kept relatively low. Due to the great potential of the technology, Uniper is already working on scaling
up, which should enable broad implementation in other plants within the group.

Southern Company (USA) announces transition to net-zero carbon emissions
goal

Southern Company moved to a long-term greenhouse gas emissions reduction goal of net zero emissions by 2050. The company also reaffirmed its
intermediate goal of a 50 percent reduction of GHG emissions from 2007 levels by 2030. These are enterprise-wide goals across all electric and gas
operations. Today's action, announced during the 2020 Southern Company Annual Meeting of Stockholders replaces the low- to no-carbon goal the
company unveiled in April of 2018. Driven primarily by low natural gas prices, and through our regulators, Southern Company has seen a rapid
transition of its system's generation fleet. The Southern Company system's carbon emissions have decreased by 44 percent through 2019, and the
company now expects to achieve the 50 percent reduction goal well in advance of 2030, and possibly as early as 2025. The company remains a leader
in formulating and implementing a comprehensive strategy to reduce GHG emissions and will offer further detail on its progress in a report to be issued
later this year. To achieve the net-zero goals, the company will continue to reduce GHG emissions and continue our long-term commitment to energy
efficiency, but also incorporate negative carbon solutions, including technology-based approaches such as direct air capture of carbon as well as natural
methods like forestation. Since 2018, the interest in decarburization efforts in the U.S. and beyond – including with Southern Company's board and
stakeholders – has evolved to incorporate concepts related to negative carbon solutions.
