intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) expertise. The acquisition will add
nearly 350 employees, along with a strong portfolio of accelerators, which can

Accenture Invests in and Forms Strategic Alliance with TradeIX to Help
Digitize Global Trade
Accenture has invested in and formed a strategic alliance with TradeIX,
a Dublin-based company whose open platform uses distributed ledger
technology to facilitate the flow of goods, services, transactions and
information within a secure environment for global trade. Terms of the
equity investment were not disclosed. Current trade relies on
time-consuming manual transaction processes that can be costly and
hard to reconcile. Distributed ledger technology enables new ways to
share data and the full automation of finance and accounting processes,
increasing productivity and working capital while reducing overall risk
for banking parties. As part of the agreement, Accenture will work with
TradeIX to bring to market new use cases, beyond banking, to address
the needs of buyers and sellers within trade finance. TradeIX is the
latest addition to the investment portfolio of Accenture Ventures, which
teams with and invests in companies that create or apply innovative
enterprise technologies.
Executive Commentary
“Building on TradeIX’s solid foundation across the banking
community, this relationship will help companies unlock trapped
value in data silos across key operational processes, such as finance,
accounting and supply chain,” said Managing director of blockchain
services for Accenture Operations. “Our goal is to scale this
capability to help organizations achieve touchless payable and
receivable processes within a secure and trusted environment —
ultimately transforming how they conduct business with each other.”

transformation and cloud operations. With these new capabilities, Unisys has enhanced its CloudForte services to provide clients with better
visibility into whether their cloud architecture, security and compliance match up to industry best practices. These automated capabilities of
CloudForte help clients enhance security and optimize operations for workloads delivered on AWS as well as in hybrid- and multi-cloud

spots proactively. It incorporates a continually updated database of key security regulations and constantly monitors for compliance – showing

Virtusa Improves Field Force Worker Efficiency with Augmented Reality and AI
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
11
Solution Description
Virtusa Corporation, a global provider of digital strategy, digital engineering, and IT services and solutions that help clients change and disrupt markets through
innovation engineering, announced new capabilities, including augmented reality (AR) based test and diagnostic capabilities to improve the efficiency of field
force workers and help them improve customer service while reducing average handling time. Traditional Communications Service Providers (CSPs), wireless
providers, internet, cable, and satellite operators, along with other managed service providers, typically have a large contractor-based field force that must be
trained to diagnose and make repairs using a massive portfolio of products and equipment. Virtusa’s Smart Field Force Management Platform addresses these
issues by helping technicians quickly locate problems with minimal training. Using AI, the platform provides guided resolution paths for frequently encountered
issues. The application is able to automatically co-relate and initiate diagnostic tests based on the type of issues reported. Using machine learning, the system is
being trained to recognize 20,000 different devices. This allows field engineers to diagnose problems with minimal training. Automated job closure notes allow
better capturing of issue resolution in the field, which in turn enables better analytics for the product teams to improve product performance and capability over
time.
Using the new Virtusa Smart Field Force Management Platform, CSPs can expect:
• More Efficient Workforce – Using route optimization and remote test and diagnostic capabilities to reduce field operations by 60 percent, while delivering a 30
percent improvement in service engineer efficiency by identifying the main fault location and common faults.
• Save Time and Money – Up to an 80 percent reduction in CapEx by consolidating eight devices into a single mobile platform, making it quick and easy for
service engineers to identify issues.
• Better Customer Service – Using detailed root cause analysis to reduce repeat service calls by 50 percent, while providing a 45 percent reduction in
Customer-Premise Equipment (CPE) issues through guided resolution steps.

Active inceptors earn certification on Gulfstream G600 and G500

BAE Systems reached a critical milestone today with the certification of its active inceptors for Gulfstream's G600 and G500 aircraft. The
certifications are from the Federal Aviation Administration for the G600 aircraft and European Aviation Safety Agency for the G500 aircraft. The
achievement marks the second series of certifications for BAE Systems' active sticks in civil applications, which were first certified on
Gulfstream's G500 aircraft last year. Unlike a passive system, active inceptors, which are part of the controls pilots use to fly an aircraft, have
electronically controlled actuators that send tactile feedback to the pilot through the stick. The feedback is programmable for specific aircraft
depending on customer requirements, and can warn pilots of impending structural or aerodynamic operating limits. One of the key benefits of
active inceptors is the ability to link the pilot and co-pilot controls, so each can see and feel the other’s control inputs in real time. BAE Systems
has been a world leader in active inceptor technology for more than 25 years. The military version of the technology was originally developed
for the Joint Strike Fighter program in the 1990s, achieving its first flight on the platform in 2000 and becoming the world's first certified
military active inceptor on the F-35 just six years later. That same core technology achieved a handful of other world firsts, which includes first
flight on helicopters such as Blackhawk and Chinook. Today, the company's active inceptors have flown on 12 different commercial and military
aircraft around the world and have logged more than 200,000 flight hours. BAE Systems is a premier provider of advanced and affordable
controls, avionics, and power management systems for aircraft. From controlling the aircraft to keeping its engine running at peak performance,

certifications are from the Federal Aviation Administration for the G600 aircraft and European Aviation Safety Agency for the G500
aircraft. The achievement marks the second series of certifications for BAE Systems' active sticks in civil applications, which were first
certified on Gulfstream's G500 aircraft last year. Unlike a passive system, active inceptors, which are part of the controls pilots use to fly an
aircraft, have electronically controlled actuators that send tactile feedback to the pilot through the stick. The feedback is programmable for
specific aircraft depending on customer requirements, and can warn pilots of impending structural or aerodynamic operating limits. One of
the key benefits of active inceptors is the ability to link the pilot and co-pilot controls, so each can see and feel the other’s control inputs in
real time. BAE Systems has been a world leader in active inceptor technology for more than 25 years. The military version of the
technology was originally developed for the Joint Strike Fighter program in the 1990s, achieving its first flight on the platform in 2000 and
becoming the world's first certified military active inceptor on the F-35 just six years later. That same core technology achieved a handful of
other world firsts, which includes first flight on helicopters such as Blackhawk and Chinook. Today, the company's active inceptors have
flown on 12 different commercial and military aircraft around the world and have logged more than 200,000 flight hours. BAE Systems is a
premier provider of advanced and affordable controls, avionics, and power management systems for aircraft. From controlling the aircraft to
keeping its engine running at peak performance, BAE Systems serves more than two million passengers each day. Every second of every
day a plane safely takes off and lands because of its products.

BAE Systems selected by DARPA to create autonomy software for multi-domain mission
planning
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
49
BAE Systems has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop software
that will enable semi-autonomous multi-domain mission planning. The technology will be designed for military operators to leverage
battlespace resources from across various domains, such as space, air, land, and sea, for more effective, efficient missions. Military
operators currently use manual processes to assess availability and coordinate use of sensors, communications, weapons, and other
assets across domains. DARPA's Adapting Cross-Domain Kill-Webs (ACK) program will seek to help operators adapt to dynamic
situations with software technology that automatically identifies the best options. In response, BAE Systems' FAST Labs™ research
and development organization, along with teammate Carnegie Mellon University, will create software called Multi-domain Adaptive
Request Service (MARS). MARS aims to help operators make informed decisions by automatically identifying available capabilities
across domains, and then rapidly assessing the costs and benefits to use those capabilities when adjusting mission tasks. The software
also includes a visual interface that will allow the exploration of available asset options, helping operators arrive at the best course of
action to deliver the desired effect on targets. MARS builds on BAE Systems' robust autonomy portfolio and 20-year history
pioneering autonomy technology. Work on the ACK program, valued at $3.1 million, is being performed at the company's facilities in
Burlington, Massachusetts and Arlington, Virginia.

BAE Systems to develop new cyber tools for DARPA to improve security of electronic
data formats
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

BAE Systems has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop new
cyber tools designed to help prevent vulnerabilities in electronic files that can lead to cyberattacks. Development of these tools will
be part of DARPA's Safe Documents (SafeDocs) program, which aims to more effectively identify and reject malicious data in a
variety of electronic formats. Every day, individuals and organizations in military, government and commercial industries receive
electronic content, such as Portable Document Format (PDF) and digital media files, from unauthorized or potentially
compromised sources, which creates security risks. As part of the SafeDocs program, BAE Systems’ FAST Labs™ research and
development team will create two different cyber tools. The first tool seeks to recover, simplify, and automatically select safe
feature subsets within electronic data formats to help encode the data safely and unambiguously, while the second is a toolkit to
help software developers avoid vulnerabilities in the software they create to process complex electronic data. The research for
Phase 1 of the SafeDocs program, which is being developed with funding from DARPA, adds to BAE Systems' cyber technology
portfolio. Work for the program will be completed with teammate American University and will take place at the company’s
facilities in Arlington, Virginia and Burlington, Massachusetts.

U.S. Navy awards contract for thousands of APKWS® Laser-Guided Rockets
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

The Navy has signed a $2.68 billion IDIQ contract for thousands of combat-proven, low-cost APKWS® Laser-Guided Rockets.
Following a U.S. Department of Defense announcement in September 2019, BAE Systems announced that the U.S. Navy has signed a
$2.68 billion indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for the purchase of thousands of additional APKWS® Laser-Guided
Rockets, the company's combat-proven, low-cost precision munition. The contract demonstrates continuing demand for precision strike
capabilities that empower and protect warfighters while reducing collateral damage. APKWS rockets fill the gap between unguided
rockets and large precision munitions, and are the U.S. government's only program of record for 2.75" laser-guided rockets. APKWS
guidance kits are compatible with new inventories of rocket motors, warheads, and launchers, and easily transform unguided rockets
into precision munitions with little training. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract enables the Navy to purchase APKWS
guidance kits over a five-year period, representing full-rate production lots 8-12. To meet growing demand, BAE Systems has ramped
up production at its advanced manufacturing facilities in Hudson, New Hampshire and Austin, Texas and established a robust supply
chain. The APKWS laser-guided rocket is used by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Army, and is available
to allied nations via Foreign Military Sales.

BAE Systems receives order from U.S. Army for additional M109A7 Self-Propelled
Howitzers
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
53
The U.S. Army has awarded BAE Systems a $249 million contract modification to complete an additional 60 M109A7 self-propelled
howitzers that will bring improved artillery capabilities to the Army’s Armored Brigade Combat Teams (ABCTs). The M109A7 and the
CAT vehicle sets provide increased commonality across the ABCT, and have significant built-in growth potential in terms of electrical
power and weight carrying capacity. The vehicle design includes a new chassis, engine, transmission, suspension, steering system, a
new high voltage architecture and improved survivability, while the vehicle’s cannon remains the same as that of an M109A6 Paladin.
The M109A7 is supported by the Army as a vital technology enhancement program to maintain the combat capability of its ABCTs. It
will solve long-term readiness and modernization needs of the M109 family of vehicles through a critical redesign and production plan
that leverages the most advanced technology available today. This state-of-the-art “digital backbone” and power generation capability
provides a more robust, survivable, and responsive indirect fire support capability for ABCT Soldiers. The M109A7 is a significant
upgrade over the M109A6 as it restores space, weight, and power cooling, while providing significant growth potential for emerging
technologies. The initial contract was awarded in 2017. This most recent order brings the total number of vehicle sets — M109A7
howitzers and M992A3 ammunition carriers — to 156, and the total contract value to $1.16 billion.
