Rhobi Samwelly, Panellist
Rhobi Samwelly founded the Hope for Girls and Women Tanzania.
The organization runs two safe houses in the Butiama and Serengeti
districts of the Mara region of Tanzania. The safe houses offer shelter
and support to girls and women fleeing FGM, child marriage and
other forms of gender based violence. She has faced threats over the
years for the incredible work she does for women’s rights in Tanzania,
but this has neither stopped nor dimmed her passion for protecting
girls and women. In January 2022, Rhobi was awarded the prestigious
Marianne Human Rights Defenders Award by President Macron of
France.

through our production not
