The benefits of
Cannabidiol (CBD)
Although the effects and benefits of CBD are still being actively researched, we can
discuss what preliminary research shows. Overall, CBD has shown, in clinical
settings, to help relieve convulsions, inflammation, anxiety, nausea, and other
health concerns; in fact, hundreds of peer-reviewed studies indicate that CBD
possesses almost unbelievable clinical potential.
Since CBD oil has not been FDA approved as a cure or treatment for any disease,
CBD companies do not make or support any medical claims related to hemp CBD
oil.
Although FDA has not come out with an official statement, the United States
Department of Health and Human Services does hold a patent called ‘Cannabinoids
as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectants’ (Patent # 6,630,507). This patent states:
Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA
receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the
treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such
as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The
cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for
example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke
and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as
Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia.
www.JohnsCBD.com Page 3
Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol, are particularly
advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with
psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present
invention.
How does CBD
work?
Since its discovery in 1992, researchers have been investigating the existence
of a central regulatory system called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).
The ECS is made of cannabinoid receptors, endogenous (self-made) cannabis-
like compounds and enzymes that create and inactivate them. The ECS is one
of the most important physiologic systems involved in establishing and
maintaining human health.
Phytocannabinoids like CBD, of which well over 100 have been found to exist,
are plant derivatives that ”talk” to just about every major organ system in the
body via the ECS, helping restore normal balance and physiologic homeostasis.
Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body. In each
tissue, cannabinoids perform different tasks, but the goal is always the same:
homeostasis, maintaining a stable internal environment despite fluctuations in
the external environment.
So, why is the CBD important for the Endocannabinoid System( ECS)? Because
CBD modulates endocannabinoid tone and may help keep healthy people
healthy.

The list below shows the findings that our science community has found when it
comes to the benefits of CBD:
RELIEVES PAIN AND INFLAMMATION
Among common CBD benefits, natural pain relief tops the list for many.
Evidence suggests that cannabinoids may prove useful in pain modulation by
inhibiting neuronal transmission in pain pathways. A 2012 study published in
the Journal of Experimental Medicine found that CBD significantly suppressed
chronic inflammatory and neuropathic pain in rodents without causing analgesic
tolerance. Researchers suggest that CBD and other nonpsychoactive
components of marijuana may represent a novel class of therapeutic agents for
the treatment of chronic pain. (1)
According to a 2007 meta-analysis conducted in Canada, the combination of
CBD and THC buccal spray was found to be effective in treating neuropathic
pain in multiple sclerosis, which can be debilitating for 50 to 70 percent of MS
patients. (2)
ANTIPSYCHOTIC EFFECTS
Research shows that CBD benefits include producing antipsychotic effects. It
appears to have a pharmacological profile similar to that of atypical antipsychotic
drugs as seen using behavioral and neurochemical techniques in animal studies.
Additionally, studies show that CBD prevents human experimental psychosis
and is effective in open case reports and clinical trials in patients
with schizophrenia, with a remarkable safety profile. (3)
www.JohnsCBD.com Page 5
REDUCES ANXIETY
Studies using animal models of anxiety and involving healthy volunteers clearly
suggest an anxiolytic-like effect of CBD. Cannabidiol has shown to reduce
anxiety in patients with social anxiety disorder and researchers suggest that it
may also be effective for panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, social
anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. (4)
HELPS TO FIGHT CANCER
Several scientific reports demonstrate that CBD benefits include possessing
antiproliferative, pro-apoptotic effects that inhibit cancer cell migration, adhesion
and invasion. (5) A 2006 study published in the Journal of Pharmacology and
Experimental Therapeutics found for the first time that CBD potently and
selectively inhibited the growth of different breast tumor cell lines and exhibited
significantly less potency in non-cancer cells. (6)
In 2011, researchers added light on the cellular mechanism through which CBD
induces cell death in breast cancer cells. They showed that CBD induced a
concentration-dependent cell death of both oestrogen receptor-positive and
oestrogen receptor-negative breast cancer cells. They also found that the
effective concentrations of CBD in tumor cells have little effect on non-
tumorigenic, mammary cells. (7)
CBD behaves as a non-toxic compound and studies show that doses of 700
milligrams per day for 6 weeks did not show any overt toxicity in humans,
suggesting that it can be used for prolonged treatment. Not only does the
research show that CBD benefits including being effective in fighting breast
cancer cells, data also suggests that it can be used to inhibit the invasion of lung
www.JohnsCBD.com Page 6
and colon cancer, plus it possesses anti-tumor properties in gliomas and has
been used to treat leukemia. (8)
RELIEVES NAUSEA
Cannabis has been used for centuries for the suppression of nausea and
vomiting. Research has revealed that among more than 80 cannabinoid
compounds found in marijuana, both the intoxicant THC and the non-intoxicant
CBD helps to get rid of nausea and vomiting in animal studies. A 2012 study
published in the British Journal of Pharmacology found that CBD benefits
including possessing anti-nausea and antiemetic effects when it was
administered to rats. (9) Researchers found that CBD acts in a diphasic manner,
meaning that in low doses it suppresses toxin-induced vomiting, but in high
doses it increases nausea or has no effect.
TREAT SEIZURES AND OTHER
NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS (EPILEPSY)
A 2014 survey conducted by researchers at Stanford University was presented
to parents belonging to a Facebook group dedicated to sharing information
about the use of cannabidiol-enriched cannabis to treat their child’s seizures.
Nineteen responses met the inclusion criteria for the study: a diagnosis
of epilepsy and current use of CBD-enriched cannabis. The average number of
anti-epileptic drugs tried before using CBD cannabis was 12. Sixteen (84
percent) of the 19 parents reported a reduction in their child’s seizure frequency
www.JohnsCBD.com Page 7
while taking CBD cannabis. Of these, two (11 percent) reported complete
seizure freedom, eight (42 percent) reported a greater than 80 percent reduction
in seizure frequency, and six (32 percent) reported a 25–60 percent seizure
reduction. Other beneficial effects included increased alertness, better mood
and improved sleep; while side effects included drowsiness and fatigue. (10)
Later in 2014, researchers reported on preliminary results of a study involving
children with treatment-resistant epilepsies in an expanded access
“compassionate use program.” Patients received a purified 98 percent oil-based
CBD extract called Epidiolex, which is made by GW Pharmaceuticals. After 3
months of treatment, 39 percent of the 23 patients had more than a 50 percent
reduction in seizures, with a 32 percent median reduction. These preliminary
results support the animal studies and survey reports that CBD may be a
promising treatment for treatment-resistant epilepsy and it is generally well-
tolerated in doses up to 25 milligrams per kilogram of body weight. (11)
LOWERS INCIDENCE OF DIABETES
A 2006 study found that CBD treatment significantly reduced the incidence of
diabetes in non-obese diabetic mice from an incidence of 86 percent in non-
treated mice to an incidence of 30 percent in CBD-treated mice. CBD benefits
also showed a significant reduction of plasma levels of pro-inflammatory
cytokines. A histological examination of the pancreatic islets of the CBD-treated
mice revealed significantly reduced insulitis. (12)
In 2013, the American Journal of Medicine published a study that highlighted the
impact of marijuana use on glucose, insulin and insulin resistance among U.S.
adults. The study included 4,657 adult men and women from the National Health
and Nutritional Examination Survey from 2005 to 2010. Of the participants, 579
www.JohnsCBD.com Page 8
were current marijuana users and 1,975 were past users. The researchers found
that current marijuana use was associated with 16 percent lower fasting insulin
levels. They also found significant associations between marijuana use and
smaller waist circumferences, a factor connected to the onset of diabetes
symptoms. (13)
PROMOTES CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH
A 2013 study published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology reports
that CBD protects against the vascular damage caused by a high glucose
environment, inflammation or the induction of type 2 diabetes in animal models;
plus, CBD proved to reduce the vascular hyperpermeability (which causes leaky
gut) associated with such environments. (14)
DEPRESSION
CBD dosing experiments have shown that small dosages of CBD has an “Active”
effect, which means that it actually helps you stay active and focused.
Interestingly, large dosages have the opposite effect: a sedative effect. More
research has to be done to determine what is the optimal dosage to take for the
anti-anxiety and antidepressant effects to be optimal, but it’s something one can
also experiment with to find the dosage that suits them best.
www.JohnsCBD.com Page 9
ARTHRITIS
CBD’s benefits of alleviating joint pains has been the main reason behind brands
developing topicals infused with CBD. You can find many brands who are
starting to offer lotions or muscle freeze applications that include CBD.
DRUG ADDICTION, SMOKING, AND
ALCOHOLISM
Early clinical trials have shown that CBD can reduce nicotine addiction and have
actually reduced the number of cigarettes smoked by 40%! I have had good
feedback from customers who substantially reduced their nicotine after they
started using CBD.

Is it legal to buy CBD oil
in Texas?
YES, CBD oil made from agricultural hemp plants are legal to be sold and bought
in the United States. In 2014, Congress and President Obama signed into law the
Agricultural Act of 2014 (also known as the “Farm Bill”). Under Section 7606,
federal law does allow for the cultivation, processing and marketing of hemp and
hemp products, which would include cannabinoids derived from agricultural
hemp.
Under U.S. federal law, agricultural hemp products (containing less than 0.3%
THC) can be commercially shipped to all 50 states.
As long as the CBD rich Hemp oil has less than 0.3% THC it is a nutritional
supplement and you do not need a prescription. All of the products I sell
are less than 0.3% THC and made from Hemp, so they are legal in TX.
As of March 1st
2017, they are not arresting you for high THC marijuana in
Houston, so I think CBD oil with low THC less than 0.3% should be fine.
District Attorney Kim Ogg of Harris County, which includes Houston, said that
as of March 1, she would no longer arrest or prosecute most marijuana cases.
Instead people found in possession of marijuana will be diverted to a four-hour
class. “We have spent in excess of $250 million, over a quarter-billion dollars,
prosecuting a crime that has produced no tangible evidence of improved public
safety,” she said. “We have disqualified, unnecessarily, thousands of people from
greater job, housing and educational opportunities by giving them a criminal
record for what is, in effect, a minor law violation.”

What’s the difference
between “Hemp” and
“Cannabis/Marijuana”?
Other than the fact that they're both part of the Cannabis family, hemp and
marijuana are contrastingly different.
FACTS ABOUT HEMP
Hemp is one of the earliest known domesticated plants,
cultivated by civilizations for approximately 12,000 years.
Agricultural hemp comes from the Cannabis Sativa L. plant.
Agricultural hemp grows differently than THC-containing
cannabis, and looks similar to bamboo.
Hemp has little potential to produce high-content THC
when pollinated.
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is the second most prominent
compound found in the hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) plant.
Because of their genetic similarity, hemp and marijuana have been confused for
more than 80 years. That is why hemp got grouped in with marijuana under the
Marijuana Tax Act (1937) and the Controlled Substances Act (1970). Marijuana,
hemp, and cannabis are common names for plants of the genus Cannabis. The
term "hemp" is used for Cannabis plants that are grown for nondrug use, such as
www.JohnsCBD.com Page 12
Cannabis sativa. Cannabis indica has poor fiber quality and is used to make drugs
for recreation and medicine. The major differences between the two are
appearance and the amount of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active
ingredient of marijuana.
But if you look at their chemical makeup, cultivation methods, and applications,
they share little similarities.
Hemp barely contains any of the chemical that makes marijuana
psychoactive. Marijuana contains 5-25% of THC, that makes is psychoactive.
Hemp, on the other hand, only contains up to 0.3%, which makes
it impossible to get high off of.
When you compare a hemp farm with a marijuana farm, they look like
completely different crops. The environment in which hemp and marijuana
are grown is strikingly different. Hemp is grown closely together (as close as
4 inches apart) and are typically grown in large multi-acre plots. It can also
grow in variety of climates and its growth cycle is 108-120 days. Unlike
hemp, marijuana requires a carefully controlled, warm, and humid
atmostphere for proper growth. Its growth cycle only 60-90 days. Medical
cannabis also cannot be grown too close to each other. They are typically
grown 6 feet apart.
The applications of hemp are completely opposite of those of marijuana.
Marijuana, as it is widely known, is used for medicinal or recreational
purposes. Hemp is used in variety of other applications that marijuana
couldn’t possibly be used in. These include healthy dietary supplements, skin
products, clothing, and accessories. Overall, hemp is known to have
over 25,000 possible applications.

WHAT IS CBD?
Cannabidiol or CBD, is a promising phytocannabinoid found in agricultural
hemp. It has been recognized for its benefits on human and animal health
and is capable of affecting nearly every biological process.
CBD is non-psychotoxic (i.e. it does not result in feelings of euphoria) and
has a remarkable safety profile.
IS THERE A
DIFFERENCE
IN WHAT SOURCE
CBD COMES FROM?
No. CBD is CBD, no matter what source it is from. The human body does not
recognize whether a CBD compound was sourced from hemp or a high-CBD
strain of cannabis - all of the body’s biologic activity, interaction with various
enzymes, and receptors specific to CBD remain the same.
But for those who want a legal, non-psychotoxic way to get CBD, hemp-derived
CBD oil products provide the best options available.
www.JohnsCBD.com Page 15
How much CBD oil
should you take?
Simply put, this is a rather difficult question to answer because each individual
find differences in their personally optimal serving size. The best advice suggests
that for a first time user, start with a small dosage and step by step, increase the
dose if needed. As a rough guide the dose of CBD (mg) you’d want to use really
depends on the ailment or condition. You can take anywhere from 5 mg for pain,
300mg for epilepsy, all the way to 1000mg for cancer.
And do keep in mind that I’m talking about actual CBD content here, not CBD oil.
All CBD oil have different concentrations, so you’re going to have to measure how
much CBD you’re actually taking based off the CBD oil you use. You also have to
how you’re going to take your CBD oil. There are various different ways to intake
CBD oil (i.e. pills, tinctures, vaping, patches, etc.).
Overall, there’s no one right answer to your question. You are going to have to
experiment with your daily dosage and with the different types of products to
figure out what works best for you.
You may also check out supplement information from Mayo Clinic, a reputable
medical institution, which have guidelines based on scientific research,
publications, traditional use, or expert opinions.

The Variety of CBD
products.
1. Tinctures
Tinctures are great. You just drop a couple drops under
your tongue and let it sit there for a while before
swallowing. Dosage can range from 100mg-1500mg of
CBD per bottle. Tinctures is the most common usage of
CBD application available on the market.
How to Use
A tincture is known to be most effective by not swallowing the liquid right
away. You want to ingest as much as you can sub-
bilingually. Place the drops under your tongue and
hold for around 30 seconds.
2. Capsules
CBD capsules are a great way to add CBD to your diet
as a daily supplement. It is much easier to take than
tinctures. Capsules typically offer 10-25mg of CBD per
capsule.
www.JohnsCBD.com Page 17
How to Use
Capsules are great as it’s the easiest to take in your daily regimen. Just take one
capsule (or as needed) daily with water. Your body takes some time to digest
capsules, so you typically won’t “feel” anything or the effects right away.
Capsules are more ideal to take as supplements for people who are looking to
boost their endocannabinoid system or even those who would like to take “exact”
doses of CBD. (It’s much easier to do this compared to vapes or tinctures)
3. Topicals
More brands have started to add CBD onto
topicals, such as lotions, salve, and lip balms, for
its skin benefits. CBD topicals are known to help
with chronic pain, inflammation, acne,
psoriasis, cancer treatment, anti-aging, and so
many more.
How to Use
CBD creams were highly effective for any type of joint/muscle pains. If you’re
suffering from arthritis or even just a sore shoulder from sleeping in the wrong
position, CBD topicals can provide an immediate relief. Apply generously to
body areas that could benefit from the topical solution.
www.JohnsCBD.com Page 18
4. Sprays
CBD sprays are just the same as Tinctures except
you spray it into your month rather than use a
dropper. Typical concentration of CBD sprays
ranges from 1-3mg per spray and %00mg per
bottle.
How to Use
Like tinctures sprays are most effective by not swallowing the liquid right away.
You want to ingest as much as you can sub-bilingually. Spray the CBD oil under
your tongue and hold for around 30 seconds. Serving size should be labeled on
the bottle (typically 2-3 sprays). Use
daily or as needed.
5. Vapes
Using a vape pen to intake CBD is
highly effective in that you can easily
adjust the dosage you take in by how
you feel. You can probably say you
“feel” its effects much quicker.
How to Use
www.JohnsCBD.com Page 19
In order to use CBD vape oil, you will need an e-cigarette, vape pen, or vaporizer.
Add the CBD oil to your vape liquid or apply drops onto the coil, heat and inhale
the appropriate amount of vapor.
6. Inhalers
Using an Inhaler is similar to a Vape pen but much
more consistent dosage due to the control of the
exact mix of CBD and controlled amount of vapor
expelled every time you press the inhaler button. It
is also much more discreet and medically accepted
than blowing big puffs of vapor from a vape pen. The
manufactures also say 95% of the CBD is absorbed much more than any other
CBD product.
How to Use
Half way through a big slow inhale press the button on the top of the inhaler and
inhale vapor. Each inhale is 10mg of CBD and the inhaler has 1000mg total.

The benefits of Cannabidiol (CBD)

  • 2. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 2 The benefits of Cannabidiol (CBD) Although the effects and benefits of CBD are still being actively researched, we can discuss what preliminary research shows. Overall, CBD has shown, in clinical settings, to help relieve convulsions, inflammation, anxiety, nausea, and other health concerns; in fact, hundreds of peer-reviewed studies indicate that CBD possesses almost unbelievable clinical potential. Since CBD oil has not been FDA approved as a cure or treatment for any disease, CBD companies do not make or support any medical claims related to hemp CBD oil. Although FDA has not come out with an official statement, the United States Department of Health and Human Services does hold a patent called ‘Cannabinoids as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectants’ (Patent # 6,630,507). This patent states: Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia.
  • 3. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 3 Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention. How does CBD work? Since its discovery in 1992, researchers have been investigating the existence of a central regulatory system called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS is made of cannabinoid receptors, endogenous (self-made) cannabis- like compounds and enzymes that create and inactivate them. The ECS is one of the most important physiologic systems involved in establishing and maintaining human health. Phytocannabinoids like CBD, of which well over 100 have been found to exist, are plant derivatives that ”talk” to just about every major organ system in the body via the ECS, helping restore normal balance and physiologic homeostasis. Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body. In each tissue, cannabinoids perform different tasks, but the goal is always the same: homeostasis, maintaining a stable internal environment despite fluctuations in the external environment. So, why is the CBD important for the Endocannabinoid System( ECS)? Because CBD modulates endocannabinoid tone and may help keep healthy people healthy.
  • 4. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 4 The list below shows the findings that our science community has found when it comes to the benefits of CBD: RELIEVES PAIN AND INFLAMMATION Among common CBD benefits, natural pain relief tops the list for many. Evidence suggests that cannabinoids may prove useful in pain modulation by inhibiting neuronal transmission in pain pathways. A 2012 study published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine found that CBD significantly suppressed chronic inflammatory and neuropathic pain in rodents without causing analgesic tolerance. Researchers suggest that CBD and other nonpsychoactive components of marijuana may represent a novel class of therapeutic agents for the treatment of chronic pain. (1) According to a 2007 meta-analysis conducted in Canada, the combination of CBD and THC buccal spray was found to be effective in treating neuropathic pain in multiple sclerosis, which can be debilitating for 50 to 70 percent of MS patients. (2) ANTIPSYCHOTIC EFFECTS Research shows that CBD benefits include producing antipsychotic effects. It appears to have a pharmacological profile similar to that of atypical antipsychotic drugs as seen using behavioral and neurochemical techniques in animal studies. Additionally, studies show that CBD prevents human experimental psychosis and is effective in open case reports and clinical trials in patients with schizophrenia, with a remarkable safety profile. (3)
  • 5. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 5 REDUCES ANXIETY Studies using animal models of anxiety and involving healthy volunteers clearly suggest an anxiolytic-like effect of CBD. Cannabidiol has shown to reduce anxiety in patients with social anxiety disorder and researchers suggest that it may also be effective for panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. (4) HELPS TO FIGHT CANCER Several scientific reports demonstrate that CBD benefits include possessing antiproliferative, pro-apoptotic effects that inhibit cancer cell migration, adhesion and invasion. (5) A 2006 study published in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics found for the first time that CBD potently and selectively inhibited the growth of different breast tumor cell lines and exhibited significantly less potency in non-cancer cells. (6) In 2011, researchers added light on the cellular mechanism through which CBD induces cell death in breast cancer cells. They showed that CBD induced a concentration-dependent cell death of both oestrogen receptor-positive and oestrogen receptor-negative breast cancer cells. They also found that the effective concentrations of CBD in tumor cells have little effect on non- tumorigenic, mammary cells. (7) CBD behaves as a non-toxic compound and studies show that doses of 700 milligrams per day for 6 weeks did not show any overt toxicity in humans, suggesting that it can be used for prolonged treatment. Not only does the research show that CBD benefits including being effective in fighting breast cancer cells, data also suggests that it can be used to inhibit the invasion of lung
  • 6. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 6 and colon cancer, plus it possesses anti-tumor properties in gliomas and has been used to treat leukemia. (8) RELIEVES NAUSEA Cannabis has been used for centuries for the suppression of nausea and vomiting. Research has revealed that among more than 80 cannabinoid compounds found in marijuana, both the intoxicant THC and the non-intoxicant CBD helps to get rid of nausea and vomiting in animal studies. A 2012 study published in the British Journal of Pharmacology found that CBD benefits including possessing anti-nausea and antiemetic effects when it was administered to rats. (9) Researchers found that CBD acts in a diphasic manner, meaning that in low doses it suppresses toxin-induced vomiting, but in high doses it increases nausea or has no effect. TREAT SEIZURES AND OTHER NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS (EPILEPSY) A 2014 survey conducted by researchers at Stanford University was presented to parents belonging to a Facebook group dedicated to sharing information about the use of cannabidiol-enriched cannabis to treat their child’s seizures. Nineteen responses met the inclusion criteria for the study: a diagnosis of epilepsy and current use of CBD-enriched cannabis. The average number of anti-epileptic drugs tried before using CBD cannabis was 12. Sixteen (84 percent) of the 19 parents reported a reduction in their child’s seizure frequency
  • 7. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 7 while taking CBD cannabis. Of these, two (11 percent) reported complete seizure freedom, eight (42 percent) reported a greater than 80 percent reduction in seizure frequency, and six (32 percent) reported a 25–60 percent seizure reduction. Other beneficial effects included increased alertness, better mood and improved sleep; while side effects included drowsiness and fatigue. (10) Later in 2014, researchers reported on preliminary results of a study involving children with treatment-resistant epilepsies in an expanded access “compassionate use program.” Patients received a purified 98 percent oil-based CBD extract called Epidiolex, which is made by GW Pharmaceuticals. After 3 months of treatment, 39 percent of the 23 patients had more than a 50 percent reduction in seizures, with a 32 percent median reduction. These preliminary results support the animal studies and survey reports that CBD may be a promising treatment for treatment-resistant epilepsy and it is generally well- tolerated in doses up to 25 milligrams per kilogram of body weight. (11) LOWERS INCIDENCE OF DIABETES A 2006 study found that CBD treatment significantly reduced the incidence of diabetes in non-obese diabetic mice from an incidence of 86 percent in non- treated mice to an incidence of 30 percent in CBD-treated mice. CBD benefits also showed a significant reduction of plasma levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines. A histological examination of the pancreatic islets of the CBD-treated mice revealed significantly reduced insulitis. (12) In 2013, the American Journal of Medicine published a study that highlighted the impact of marijuana use on glucose, insulin and insulin resistance among U.S. adults. The study included 4,657 adult men and women from the National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey from 2005 to 2010. Of the participants, 579
  • 8. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 8 were current marijuana users and 1,975 were past users. The researchers found that current marijuana use was associated with 16 percent lower fasting insulin levels. They also found significant associations between marijuana use and smaller waist circumferences, a factor connected to the onset of diabetes symptoms. (13) PROMOTES CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH A 2013 study published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology reports that CBD protects against the vascular damage caused by a high glucose environment, inflammation or the induction of type 2 diabetes in animal models; plus, CBD proved to reduce the vascular hyperpermeability (which causes leaky gut) associated with such environments. (14) DEPRESSION CBD dosing experiments have shown that small dosages of CBD has an “Active” effect, which means that it actually helps you stay active and focused. Interestingly, large dosages have the opposite effect: a sedative effect. More research has to be done to determine what is the optimal dosage to take for the anti-anxiety and antidepressant effects to be optimal, but it’s something one can also experiment with to find the dosage that suits them best.
  • 9. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 9 ARTHRITIS CBD’s benefits of alleviating joint pains has been the main reason behind brands developing topicals infused with CBD. You can find many brands who are starting to offer lotions or muscle freeze applications that include CBD. DRUG ADDICTION, SMOKING, AND ALCOHOLISM Early clinical trials have shown that CBD can reduce nicotine addiction and have actually reduced the number of cigarettes smoked by 40%! I have had good feedback from customers who substantially reduced their nicotine after they started using CBD.
  • 10. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 10 Is it legal to buy CBD oil in Texas? YES, CBD oil made from agricultural hemp plants are legal to be sold and bought in the United States. In 2014, Congress and President Obama signed into law the Agricultural Act of 2014 (also known as the “Farm Bill”). Under Section 7606, federal law does allow for the cultivation, processing and marketing of hemp and hemp products, which would include cannabinoids derived from agricultural hemp. Under U.S. federal law, agricultural hemp products (containing less than 0.3% THC) can be commercially shipped to all 50 states. As long as the CBD rich Hemp oil has less than 0.3% THC it is a nutritional supplement and you do not need a prescription. All of the products I sell are less than 0.3% THC and made from Hemp, so they are legal in TX. As of March 1st 2017, they are not arresting you for high THC marijuana in Houston, so I think CBD oil with low THC less than 0.3% should be fine. District Attorney Kim Ogg of Harris County, which includes Houston, said that as of March 1, she would no longer arrest or prosecute most marijuana cases. Instead people found in possession of marijuana will be diverted to a four-hour class. “We have spent in excess of $250 million, over a quarter-billion dollars, prosecuting a crime that has produced no tangible evidence of improved public safety,” she said. “We have disqualified, unnecessarily, thousands of people from greater job, housing and educational opportunities by giving them a criminal record for what is, in effect, a minor law violation.”
  • 11. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 11 What’s the difference between “Hemp” and “Cannabis/Marijuana”? Other than the fact that they're both part of the Cannabis family, hemp and marijuana are contrastingly different. FACTS ABOUT HEMP Hemp is one of the earliest known domesticated plants, cultivated by civilizations for approximately 12,000 years. Agricultural hemp comes from the Cannabis Sativa L. plant. Agricultural hemp grows differently than THC-containing cannabis, and looks similar to bamboo. Hemp has little potential to produce high-content THC when pollinated. Cannabidiol, or CBD, is the second most prominent compound found in the hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) plant. Because of their genetic similarity, hemp and marijuana have been confused for more than 80 years. That is why hemp got grouped in with marijuana under the Marijuana Tax Act (1937) and the Controlled Substances Act (1970). Marijuana, hemp, and cannabis are common names for plants of the genus Cannabis. The term "hemp" is used for Cannabis plants that are grown for nondrug use, such as

The major differences between the two are appearance and the amount of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active ingredient of marijuana. But if you look at their chemical makeup, cultivation methods, and applications, they share little similarities. Hemp barely contains any of the chemical that makes marijuana psychoactive. Marijuana contains 5-25% of THC, that makes is psychoactive. Hemp, on the other hand, only contains up to 0.3%, which makes it impossible to get high off of. When you compare a hemp farm with a marijuana farm, they look like completely different crops. The environment in which hemp and marijuana are grown is strikingly different. Hemp is grown closely together (as close as 4 inches apart) and are typically grown in large multi-acre plots. It can also grow in variety of climates and its growth cycle is 108-120 days. Unlike hemp, marijuana requires a carefully controlled, warm, and humid atmostphere for proper growth. Its growth cycle only 60-90 days. Medical cannabis also cannot be grown too close to each other. They are typically grown 6 feet apart. The applications of hemp are completely opposite of those of marijuana. Marijuana, as it is widely known, is used for medicinal or recreational purposes. Hemp is used in variety of other applications that marijuana couldn’t possibly be used in. These include healthy dietary supplements, skin products, clothing, and accessories. Overall, hemp is known to have over 25,000 possible applications.

  • 14. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 14 WHAT IS CBD? Cannabidiol or CBD, is a promising phytocannabinoid found in agricultural hemp. It has been recognized for its benefits on human and animal health and is capable of affecting nearly every biological process. CBD is non-psychotoxic (i.e. it does not result in feelings of euphoria) and has a remarkable safety profile. IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN WHAT SOURCE CBD COMES FROM? No. CBD is CBD, no matter what source it is from. The human body does not recognize whether a CBD compound was sourced from hemp or a high-CBD strain of cannabis - all of the body’s biologic activity, interaction with various enzymes, and receptors specific to CBD remain the same. But for those who want a legal, non-psychotoxic way to get CBD, hemp-derived CBD oil products provide the best options available.
  • 15. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 15 How much CBD oil should you take? Simply put, this is a rather difficult question to answer because each individual find differences in their personally optimal serving size. The best advice suggests that for a first time user, start with a small dosage and step by step, increase the dose if needed. As a rough guide the dose of CBD (mg) you’d want to use really depends on the ailment or condition. You can take anywhere from 5 mg for pain, 300mg for epilepsy, all the way to 1000mg for cancer. And do keep in mind that I’m talking about actual CBD content here, not CBD oil. All CBD oil have different concentrations, so you’re going to have to measure how much CBD you’re actually taking based off the CBD oil you use. You also have to how you’re going to take your CBD oil. There are various different ways to intake CBD oil (i.e. pills, tinctures, vaping, patches, etc.). Overall, there’s no one right answer to your question. You are going to have to experiment with your daily dosage and with the different types of products to figure out what works best for you. Dosage can range from 100mg-1500mg of CBD per bottle. Tinctures is the most common usage of CBD application available on the market. How to Use A tincture is known to be most effective by not swallowing the liquid right away. You want to ingest as much as you can sub- bilingually. Place the drops under your tongue and hold for around 30 seconds. 2. Capsules CBD capsules are a great way to add CBD to your diet as a daily supplement. It is much easier to take than tinctures. Capsules typically offer 10-25mg of CBD per capsule.
  • 17. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 17 How to Use Capsules are great as it’s the easiest to take in your daily regimen. Just take one capsule (or as needed) daily with water. Your body takes some time to digest capsules, so you typically won’t “feel” anything or the effects right away. Capsules are more ideal to take as supplements for people who are looking to boost their endocannabinoid system or even those who would like to take “exact” doses of CBD. (It’s much easier to do this compared to vapes or tinctures) 3. Topicals More brands have started to add CBD onto topicals, such as lotions, salve, and lip balms, for its skin benefits. CBD topicals are known to help with chronic pain, inflammation, acne, psoriasis, cancer treatment, anti-aging, and so many more. How to Use CBD creams were highly effective for any type of joint/muscle pains. If you’re suffering from arthritis or even just a sore shoulder from sleeping in the wrong position, CBD topicals can provide an immediate relief. Apply generously to body areas that could benefit from the topical solution.

Typical concentration of CBD sprays ranges from 1-3mg per spray and %00mg per bottle. How to Use Like tinctures sprays are most effective by not swallowing the liquid right away. You want to ingest as much as you can sub-bilingually. Spray the CBD oil under your tongue and hold for around 30 seconds. Serving size should be labeled on the bottle (typically 2-3 sprays). Use daily or as needed. 5. Vapes Using a vape pen to intake CBD is highly effective in that you can easily adjust the dosage you take in by how you feel. You can probably say you “feel” its effects much quicker. How to Use
  • 19. www.JohnsCBD.com Page 19 In order to use CBD vape oil, you will need an e-cigarette, vape pen, or vaporizer. Add the CBD oil to your vape liquid or apply drops onto the coil, heat and inhale the appropriate amount of vapor. 6. Inhalers Using an Inhaler is similar to a Vape pen but much more consistent dosage due to the control of the exact mix of CBD and controlled amount of vapor expelled every time you press the inhaler button. It is also much more discreet and medically accepted than blowing big puffs of vapor from a vape pen. The manufactures also say 95% of the CBD is absorbed much more than any other CBD product. How to Use Half way through a big slow inhale press the button on the top of the inhaler and inhale vapor. Each inhale is 10mg of CBD and the inhaler has 1000mg total.
