Johann Sebastian Bach was born in 1685 in Eisenach, Germany. He was orphaned at age 10 when both of his parents died. As a child, his father taught him to play violin before passing. Bach went on to study at St. Michael's School and became proficient at the organ. He died in 1750 at age 65 from a cerebral hemorrhage after a failed eye surgery performed by an English doctor named John Taylor. Some of his most important works included preludes, toccatas, fugues, and chorales.
